OYSA falling apart again

Their ECNL teams do not play in OYSA. Their 2nd & 3rd teams are named as black & blue on the OYSA site as per the naming conventions used to qualify for past oysa brackets/seasons. Most NWC games were their 2nd teams as well.

Perhaps this is age dependent, but the 04/05 team that showed up in winter league was full of ex-TA players (GM, etc.). Pretty sure it wasn't the B team.

(And I were a uPDX player on the A team, I'd be pissed if I spent April doing nothing while the B team gets slaughtered in state cup, given that NONE of the uPDX A teams managed to qualify for the ECNL postseason.

Not bull s--. I claim it as my kid is a part of it currently. I wonder if it differs by age group as his team doesn't do the winter league (oysa fall & spring only) and their ECNL games are still going on? And the 2nd team did NWC.

That is an outright lie but typical of updx peeps.

The black teams are all the ecnl teams and not doing that great in lowly OYSA.

I promise you I'm not lying. At least not for our age group. The A team only played ecnl and the B & C teams are listed as black and blue in their oysa brackets. I guess I can't speak to the older years. I have no need to lie and it was never my intention to spread misinformation. I was only reporting what I know to be true for his team, but it seems I incorrectly applied what his age group is doing to all the age groups. He's my oldest so we are still new to the crazy that is youth soccer here in OR. I had no idea people took this so seriously until this year. Last year was more chill.

Actually….Masters Degree, former professional player, former D1 collegiate player, former D1 soccer coach, and currently still coaching. Once again, your post is assuming and ignorant, but at this point it’s willful ignorance. Making players feel inadequate that playing at a D3 or Juco is “lower level” only comes from a person of entitlement, and honestly just misery. I hope you never get to speak to young players with that mindset. Your thoughts and comments are a reason why players stop playing the game they love.
