    SCA girls. What is happening?

Saw this in a guest player group on Facebook.

    Sarah Plymale Panza

    Hello All!

Looking for several guest players for DPL Showcase in Tuscan, Arizona April 28th - April 30th
We are a club called @scaportland from Portland, OR that play a very intentional and creative style and have great coaches who teach to develop.
    Looking for the following:
    2008 G - 10 players
    2007 G - 5 Players with a GK
    2006 G - 2-3 Players
    2005 G - 10 Players with a GK

This is a massive ask - we have a club conflict that weekend and this is a mandatory tournament for us - so in a very tough situation to fill the gaps. Please DM me with the following if you are interested:
    Players Name
    Players Birthyear
    Home City
    Positions/Current League

Ive seen them posting trying to fill a decent amount of players before but this is crazy town

No way I would subject my daughter to this.

The club that barely had no teams in OYSA Premier, then was applied for and was accepted in the girls DA, now needs guest players to attend events in order to compete?!?!?!?! No way....

Everyone is leaving, other games in town are $500 cheaper and have a real staff. PCU is looting them.

I like the idea of sca and what they are trying to do. But this isn’t good for anyone involved

SCA parent here. Watching this thread with curiosity, but only hyperbole so far. The PCU joke was good though…I’m pretty sure they are not looting anyone.

You are as much an SCA parent as I am, Elvis Pressley. I love the quote, "...that play a very intentional and creative style" SCA proves that the soccer parent is clueless.

Can you explain why you are in this predicament then?

No I cannot. Not my kid’s teams. Like I said, watching to see how this develops. I will say that after trying a few different clubs, our family has been very happy at SCA.

SCA has a good training concept as an extra training (if you can ignore the cost itself). However, where they run into issues is that to try to bring players in then try to be a part of too many leagues/competitions without truly formed teams, so they often are having to go get more players. Now that also works as a recruiting tool for them. Technically going out and asking for guest players from other clubs in this format is 100% against OYSA rules, but OYSA is a mess and SCA only recently started playing in OYSA by registering through OVF (which is a whole different discussion all together). My daughters team played one of their SCA teams this spring, and they only had 11 players for our game, because another one of these conflicts, which made for a terrible game. Wasn't competitive at all, and a waste of our time to be honest.

I don't think this has anything to do with their current need of guest players, but I do wonder how their girls side will do this coming year with Sarah leaving. Feels like she was a huge reason why so many young females wanted to play with SCA.

What I read was SCA enters competitions to attracts players but no one in coming. SCA is trying to find relevance when they are a joke

Nothing will change with Sarah leaving. She was never there to begin with. I’ve never met a coach with so many issues they need off. Happy to see her go.

I don’t understand the animosity toward SCA on this site. They really aren’t a threat to any of the in top clubs, so why all of the hate?
