Apparently they’re going to re-do PK’s for the quarterfinals game between NW elite and LOSC after a parent protest and winner will play Eugene mid-week for right to play CFC

They are going to what? Did the Eugene/LOSC game not happen? Or did it happen, and produce a winner, but is now null and void?

Either way if I'm EMSC, I'm pretty pissed. Especially if the game got played and Eugene "won".

And if OYSA is paying any attention whatsoever to "parent protests", shame on them. If a coach or club protests, and does so in a timely fashion, and puts down the necessary deposit to ensure they really mean it, and there's a clear misapplication of the Laws by the ref (not just a missed judgment call), then I can see replaying a shootout, though in general I think the bar should be set very high for overturning results on the field--"ref was taking bribes" level of high, not "AR didn't notice that keeper came off his line to make the save" or something like that. But parental complaints should be sent straight to the circular file, at least as far as overturning a game result is concerned.

Predictions for finals now that they are set? No club clearly dominates.

OPFC has 5 teams in boys finals. 04/05, 06, 07, 09 and 10's.

What about the ecnl teams? Why aren’t they all in the finals? Ecnl is better, they have Timbers academy kids , they are United.

Is PDX more of a girls club now? We are boys ECNL, we are the greatest, we can’t find comp in Oregon….however we can’t be as competitive as our girls program. Congrats to the girls, hope the boys can maybe step up! And…the lower agre brackets don’t seem to be feeding the system. Watch out clubs…here they come with recruiting and false promises!

There seems to be a suggestion that regular curb-stompings at the hand of the likes of Crossfire Premier would make uPDX a better team. (Or that more realistically, the belief that rich parents chasing college schollies for their snowflakes would flock to ECNL so large numbers of college scouts could watch their kids get horsewhipped by said better teams).

Didn't seem to work.

The only two age groups that made the finals are the two thoroughly marbled with TA castoffs who were developed at other clubs, but decided that returning to FC Portland or wherever was beneath them.

Like every other club that tries a gimmick, it seldom pans out.

Crazy thing this year…how many clubs that used to have representation in State Cup, and now struggle to even be relevant in Presidents Cup.

speaking of clubs…what did FC do this year in 06 to have finalist in State and President? Where did they get players? So many clubs non existent at that level ADF, Westside, Santos. Seems like an odd age bracket vs others.

Epic fail by OYSA and Roberta for not notifying Eugene earlier. How are you going to do that to 10 year olds? And now, you’re gonna make them drive up to Portland midweek for a semifinal? It’s been said on here many times before, but we need new leadership at OYSA. Same old white farts been running it for too long. Only using OYSA to bolster their side businesses, whether it’s running local summer tournaments or something else.
