Can we stop the talk about new ECNL clubs in Oregon?

Honestly…..the 2 we currently have are struggling at the majority of age groups.

can someone explain how there is any room for more?

If ECNL was like National League PRO and allowed entry at the team (age group) level, I could see it work. But to say that Oregon has the numbers to fill out another club worth of elite players is not reasonable.

Its crazy talk and frankly a scam.

It’s like the DA program where it didn’t make sense and didn’t work and now you cut off one head and 5 more grows.

Oregon is one of a few states that are basically training dummies for all the other ECNL teams. It’s not the players fault either. They are victims of a terribly managed youth soccer scene. Oregon youth soccer is the worst I have seen. The coaching quality is terrible, but the people that run the main clubs are complete idiots. I bet most on this forum can attest to really poor quality of player development they have experienced over the years.

These folks are more concerned with dues and fees than champions and great players

Yay another anonymous blowhard complaining. If it’s so bad, stop posting and do something about it.

I signed up for the 'C' team United PDX and paid for Futty privates. Oh well. Like you said it did something about it, too bad it was worthless and a waste of money.

Next time sign up for the OPFC Deeznutz team and pay for Alex Cockburns’ 1 to 1 training academy. So you can be a practice squad player for the A(hole) team.

ECNL is a rotten apple. Some parts are good but most of it is. Crap.

*One* good OR ECNL team with coaches that weren't garbage would be in the top 3 at age age division.

What the clubs need to do is collaborate on one team that gives players a reasonable option to Timbers.

I hope everyone does realize exactly when ECRL is (it's not ECNL).....yes you'll gain access to the ECNL marketing pack with logos on your sleeve and social media stickers. BUT it is literally 2-3 weekends of games for teams U15-U17....go look at the ECRL girls schedule for the NW....6 games across 3 weekends and it was over in Aug (some in Dec). This so called new OR/ID ECRL league will follow the same format. 4 Slimy OR Clubs and 2 ID Clubs will compete across 3 weekends during the summers months: likely July and Aug as ECNL/ECRL player registration does not open until July 1. 3 weekends will likely include 2 in Portland and 1 trip to ID where (this is funny) some OR clubs will likely have to face off in a OR v OR battle in the great state of ID #MOMONEYMOPROBLEMS

You've written so many generalizations in your statement that it's impossible to find you credible. what's your personal soccer experience?

Have you not realized that Kim Jong-Un (posters have nicknamed him) flouts around on every single topic just to rip on leagues, players, coaches, Oregon soccer, and parents. Offers nothing positive to the conversation. KJU’s favorite catchphrases are “thunderdome” and “same as it ever was”. A sad small person with too much time and not enough self reflection. Don’t take the bait.

parents who talk like this are just telling everyone else that their kid sucks. There’s no way a good soccer player is born from parents who talk like this.
