As for the private enterprise, ADF individual training has emerged as an option for affluent parents to dream about getting ahead with skill training in Soccer. As long as someone is selling and someone is willing to buy what their selling; private training will be an option for supplemental income for financially struggling soccer devotees, needing a buck. To your point about teams or a club within ADF in the future, once the benefactors kids no longer is interested in oregon kiddie soccer or has grown tired the methods of his lackey's the plug will be pulled. Back to private training marketing.
Spartans started the same way and are now almost defunct after a couple of years.

If you go to ADF's website (http://www.adfportland.org/), they currently mention three teams: An 04 boys team, an 05 boys team, and an amateur men's team (IPS). All three teams contain an ethnically diverse mix of players (especially the 04s); a Mexican-American team they aren't. No mention anywhere of LASC is made, and LASC itself has a very minimal Internet presense. (If you dig around, you can find the roster of the LASC Eagles from last year https://home.gotsoccer.com/rankings/...?TeamID=713647' that roster is exclusively Hispanic).

LASC is a stand alone 501c3 hispanic soccer club, they allowed a couple of ADF teams to go under their umbrella in the last few years, as a club of convenience.

The benefactor has had his kid with the LASC club for a few years and invited the individual trainer mentioned in prior posts, to come join the LASC club so he could have a chance to coach the private training kids in a club setting

...now it sounds like the LASC marriage wasn't working out and the benefactor created a 501c3 for ADF and is leaving LASC..see a pattern here?

          BOOM!!

Not my take on what the parent shared on the story. I get why some folks could be sensitive to how things happened. People were there for the guy when he needed them and perhaps they were disappointed in how he went about things. I didn't get any read about disloyalty or being ungrateful. Disappointment, maybe? Who knows?

This forum is its scariest when folks aren't making stuff up.

By the way, anything that makes the Timbers or Portland Alliance clubs mad, I am all for.

                Go Jo go!

If the truth be told the efforts of recruiting only decimated one club LOSC boys so anything that makes any club mad, you are all for it.

The one bankrolling LASC/ADF? That would be one Benjamin Billups. http://www.bizjournals.com/portland/...ps-on-why.html

There are worse ways for a rich guy to spend his money than on youth soccer...

When you wrote this, I thought "Trump": he has really big signs.

But Trump is only for himself. The guy after you gave good info. And I agree, a good way to spend your money.
