There was a Jeld Wen Alliance Day last weekend for Girls and Boys U11-U12. There's another Alliance Scrimmage this Saturday. What is the goal of these events? Will an Alliance Tournament Team be selected for a tournament next March? Is this an evaluation process?

The secret
The games were all tapped and archived for feature use at ODP, DA and 1st team tryouts.
Each player on the pitch is being evaluated by the top minds inside the Timbers organization.
Individual and team training curriculum is being developed with the signal goal of producing future Portland Timbers players.
GW himself said he will personally train these players and feels confident the Timbers in 2022 will finish the MLS season in 7th or maybe even 6th place, a marked improvement from 2012

Looks more like harmless fun for the kids. Jeld Wenn just happened to be an extra perk.
What a surprise, kids playing soccer and having fun. What is this world coming to?!?!?!
Let us all bash this great opportunity

Fun ?
When I was in 6th grade my dad took me to Wrigley field to run the bases. It was great. They did it because it was fun.
The Timbers did it so they could try to bring more people in to the TA clubs and cash your club fee check. Good business for sure, but worthy of bashing.
