WSM already has 2 or 3 boys teams qualified for USYS Far West Regionals (State Cup winners destination)

The traditional ERCL model is being tweaked somewaht with the approval of the ECNL board for just 1 year.
With these 6 US Club invited clubs based in Oregon & Idaho. They do get some showcase benefits not offered to the everyday ERCL member.
This a foundational effort to establish a future ECNL division, in Oregon & Idaho. Primarily the result of the abysmal performances of UPDX & former Wa. Timbers boys ieams n the Washington only ECNL
Bottom line, and not unsurprisingly the ECNL Washington clubs find no value in traveling to play either the UPDX or WA. Timbers clubs.
Not to mention the agony and expenses suffered directly on the parents of UPDX & Wa.Timbers boys. SInce they are investing countless hours in driving only to be served as fodder weekly to some of Seattle's area finest boys teams.
Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, silly BM.

ECRL car decals ordered. Just had to tweak the design and add the text, “Future ECNL Showcase Participants.”

Don’t use UPDX u19 as an example for bad ECNL season. The team did get better as HS season ended and the boys were able to get some sort of chemistry. I think with different coaching philosophy the team could have done better. Coach Matt is a good guy and probably a good player himself but his coaching needs improvements. PDX will not get the same numbers unless they could get ECRL locked and ECNL. Just like the DA days, Oregon does not have enough top players to form more than 3 teams to compete (not saying winning every game). Didn’t get to see OPFC much this year but they look very good when I was able to watch them. Been to few show cases previous years but showcase in Florida had a lot of scouts because you could’ve them sitting with there own chairs and moving from fields to fields but most of them were from east coast schools and most were D3s and NAIAs. I think if the club decided to do the San Diego one, I think there would be more west coast schools. Best of luck to your player(s) and hope he or she lands on a team that they could enjoy playing and keeps the love of the game.
