This is not new news. The decision to leave Timbers was made last year.

Still no mention of this name change on the website. On the other hand "Columbia Premier SC" is the old name of the club, and it's still the legal name of the underlying nonprofit corporation. "Washington Timbers" is just a DBA ("doing business as") name.
