[QUOTE=Unregistered;878738]The parents that don't like futsal are the parents of the players with no technical skill. Their child can't control the ball so they think futsal is worthless. Players with good ball control typically love futsal. They actually have to have a good touch and keep the ball in play just like in outdoor. It promotes quick touches and quick ball movement. Lot's of short, on the ground passes and 1-2s. .....

....and where are these players? Because they are not here in OR!!!! Get real!!!

Actually, there are quite a number of kids here in Oregon who have pretty good skills. Go hang out at one of the facilities and you'll see some players with amazing skills play futsal. Fun to watch.

I'd say there are plenty. The '98s and '99s both represented very well at hold over camp.

            Futsal vs. Indoor

            They both have benefits.

Reyna added, "I think kids should be doing pickup or futsal all the time. I think it's very important for technique. In Argentina, futsal is what kids play growing up. They get very comfortable in small spaces with the ball. It's usually less pressure, so they can try things."

Seems to me that too much American youth soccer is played on huge fields, which rewards athleticism more than skill.

Indoor seems to be faster pace with balls playing off the wall which may rewards athleticism more than skills.

Both are fun games that will help your kids develop their games and keep in shape during the winter months.

I just wish they would turn up the heat a little at these places.

              Perspective

As a player, the last thing I want is the heat turned up. It makes the game very uncomfortable to play. Turn up the heat so mom and dad can be warm? and I suffer?

What a parent needs to do is go out on the field, bust their tail for 45 minutes in on the field, the last thing you want to do is walk off the turf into a warm environment, it makes you want to go outside into 20 to 40 degree temps to cool off.

              Will parents ever get it?
