Doyle's a creep, but this thread is disgusting. His crimes have utterly nothing to do with the club; he has nothing to do with the players, and he was thrown out as soon as the allegations were known.Comment

The selective quoting of it here implies WSM has something to do with this. It doesn't--like anyone at the club, he passed a background check, and nobody knew he was a perv until this happened. At which point he was dismissed from WSM immediately. Unlike the Timbers, who apparently knew Paul Riley was a sex pest for a good long while, there's no evidence that I've seen or heard that anyone at WSM knew anything about any of this. (And if someone at WSM did know, they should be booted immediately as well).

btw the Oregonian also states that Gavin Wilkinson was the 'founder' of the Eastside soccer club, nope not accurate either. actually, he was brought in to be the new DOC when the former 3 Rivers United & West Villa clubs combined to form ESU (think UPDX of today NEU & BSC combined) back in the early 2000's..
In this day and age who really cares, getting it right isn't required to publish on the net.

That's the problem with vetting pervs - until they have a criminal record a typical background check won't flag them. There may be whispers, however, and if a club gets wind of anything they better investigate asapComment
