Yeah, cuz things were going so well for FC Portland. Talk about a stock you sell. My lord. Their teams should all be competing in the Red Division of OYSA outside of 07 ECNL team which has significantly come back to the pack. Stats dont lie.

no, they won’t shut down the academy simply because of what that looks like to everyone.

In the history of clubs, thorns academy might be the worst ran club in the past 5-6 years. This is from their own families and coaches.

fc Portland joined ECNL and within 5 years they were forced to fold all their top teams to a club thorns that couldn’t even run itself well.

I have not heard this rumor. Why would they do that? They are only affiliated with the professional teams. They are independently run. Their teams are very successful in ECNL. These are all just rumors from rival clubs. Why aren’t their rumors that Timbers academy which shut down???? They are actually run by the professional club. There aren’t those rumors because they have no rivals in-town clubs to start them.

The TA will shut down as well. Writing is on the wall,especially with Alaska Air walking away from the Timbers. Flood gates are open.

I thought the same thing, but it is clearer now that Gavin W and the crew at Timbers/Thorns including Merritt P. had more to do with the youth teams than most of us knew. Thorns moved the admin back to Timbers/Thorns offices this year. Bad timing.

I have also heard from more than few coaches and parents that the Thorns academy may have to shut down if Paulson doesn’t sell.

I find most rumors based in some fact…rarely are they completely made up.

Thorns Academy has been financially unstable for a long time. Including the 1st year of DA. This is only going to make things exponentially worse. It’s like old saying, I don’t know it for a fact, but I know it’s true.

I see a single ECNL girls club in the very near future.

maybe 2, but it won’t include Thorns Academy.

They may get through this season, but likely wont
