Thorns 2023 and 2024 commits to date:

NCAA D1 Top 100, and some of these move into the Top 50 ranking depending on each weeks’s ranking update:
    2 commits Gonzaga
    2 commits Oregon State
    1 commit University of Oregon
    1 commit Boston College
1 commit University of San Diego

NCAA D1 Top 25 currently, or at some/many times this year
    1 commit University of Portland
    1 commit Rutgers University
    1 commit University of Washington

    NAIA Top Program
    1 commit Western Washington University

There are 350 NCAA D1 programs alone! And a bunch of NCAA D2, D3 and NAIA programs as well.

The Thorns have made some solid commits and the amount speaks to not an outlier of success, but overall program success with these players.

Plus at least 4-5 more 2024 players have not committed that are expected to go D1 Top 50/100. And TBD on remaining 223 and 2024 players, but likely D2, D3 or NAIA. Some good academic scholarship money at all levels!

For any Thorns parents that had less than great coaches assigned to your daughter’s teams while Westside ran the Thorns, next season will be the first season the Thorns will be able to assign their own coaching choices since the first year they started the club. Depending on coaching assignments as promoted before the 2023-2024 season it surely may be worth coming back to tryouts and seeing if you notice a difference! Communication, Financial transparency and opportunities to view/interact with professional womens soccer role models are very high at this club now.

BTW I am a parent not affiliated with the Thorns. Just saddened when I see so much crap said about the academy when we have had a good experience and majority of the players my daughter plays with have had too.

A lot of lies in this. Sorry. You sound desperate. Western Washington isn’t naia by the way.

One year of marginal success somewhat due to Chris T doesn’t excuse 5 years of failing to even come marginally close to doing what you sold people on.

This must be your first go around with youth soccer because that over promised somewhat commitment list isn’t any better than anyone else any given year. And bashing westside on your way out doesn’t help your cause when they carried the name thorns when no one wanted to, not even the Portland thorns.

you need ask yourself why you are trying so hard to over sell? It’s been done before you for years and it’s the reason why no one trusts them.

That's solid. And by far the best results for the Thorns. I am sure once NWE posts their results you will see similar results.

People can hate on the Thorns and NWE all they want but these ECNL clubs are putting up some impressive historical commit statistics. And in the end that's what you want for the kids. So let's stop the nonsense and recognize what these clubs are doing for their players.

How about getting some quality coaches? Name 1 “quality coach” there now.

              we will all wait

Chris is good, but he was exiled for going against the Thorns during ODP when he was pressured to pick Thorns players for regional teams and didn’t

I don’t know why anyone would answer this question. You a-holes would complain if Jesus Christ himself was a soccer coach.

With thst said, Jesus Christ would agree these folks arent coaches of any distinctiion or quality. Good Lord.

You clearly don’t know your bible. Jesus would have done nothing of the sort. Shame on you for your blasphemy.

REALLY? DO TELL WHERE ARE THERE “A LOT” OF LIES?!?! I forgot Western Washington is now D2. This doesn’t change the fact that WWU has had a great soccer program the last 20 years!

2023 and 2024 teams is not “marginal” success. There will be good commit lists for the Thorns 2025, 2026 and 2027 teams from what I can foresee. Thorns are creating a history of success. And you state the commitments listed are “over promised” (what does that even mean?) and “it isn’t any better than anyone else”. I LAUGH at this last comment. No, this is not my first youth soccer rodeo. It takes something special going on at a club to attain multi year high quality commitment lists. THUSC ONYX did this for a time, Crossfire Oregon (now NW Elite) had solid lists for their 2021 and 2022 teams. And they will again for their 2023 and 2024 teams, though not as highly ranked or as deep as the Thorns. Then there are one off teams that did well in our area’s recent history, 2019/2020 Salmon Creek team, 2021/2022 Eastside Timbers. You look like the one who is content with broad generalizations and slander vs. concretely backing up your statements. Are YOU new to girls youth soccer in the area??

JC loves them unconditionally and forgives them for entering the coaching profession. He is the definition of a Christian.

Ok coach. You sound super desperate and it’s obvious. Marginal success based off of the last 10 years and no better than anyone. Stop lying to everyone because your families are seeing the BS.

creating history of success doesn’t count when you get one so so year out of failing miserably the past 5 years.

no you don’t get to count 2026 and 2027s!!!! Hahahahhahahahah

ive heard it all now. Dumb desperate thorns coach is trying to claim history of success after failing for 5 years but also trying to count 12 year olds like you haven’t messed that up before already.

I’ve heard it all! Thanks coach. We all can see why no one trusts you snake oil salesmen.
