So what that he resigned as treasurer? And that he works for the CPA firm that does the club’s taxes? His kids play for the club and he’s a good guy. Unless he fudged the IRS tax filings for the club or knew about some inappropriate $$ things and turned a blind eye, he didn’t do anything wrong.

This is wrong. I am glad he, his wife and children are taking WUFC to court to show their displeasure. I for one hope it goes to the Supreme Court and that the CIA, FBI and military special ops and Trump gets involved to take down this criminal enterprise called Williamette United.. Ha ! this is a funny post. With so many soccer options if you are happy with a club just go down the street. In this case it appears this dad had some concerns regarding business transactions and was dismissed or raised his concerns in the wrong manner. Either way the system finally worked (kind of) and the responsible party terminated followed by a board shake up. What I mean by kind of worked is if you are dismissed from a non profit for basically stealing from kids how do you get another job with same type organization?

No horse in this race but have seen some of the allegations circulating. Setting the precedent of kicking kids out of a club is a pretty good way of intimidating the other parents and making sure no one speaks up if they feel something is wrong. This Willamette board from what I understand is compromised of a bunch of old-timers with no kids in the club. Not their money, not their kids, so easier to turn a blind eye and maybe exercise some questionable liberties with the club’s money. They fired 2 Willamette employees but one of them still runs the mothership, OPFC. Same board members, not much turnover, couple resigned, others played musical chairs. One of the remaining Willamette employees apparently forged some signatures on a bunch of checks and got a nice raise (hush money) from one of the axed superiors in beginning of COVID. Pretty egregious acts and quite a bit of liability for the above mentioned CPA though if he also served as club treasurer and most of this happened on his watch. All moot because unless there’s hard proof no law enforcement will care.
