Saw an article in West Linn Tidings that said it’ll be built soon. Will bring much needed turf fields to an area populated by thousands of soccer families. Just curious how the heck can a local soccer club like Willamette United FC afford the $20 million (per article) needed for the complex? Is the church paying for it and WUFC is operating it?

They seem to have secured the building permits and are breaking ground Spring 2023. The article quoted their president, Brian Gerritz, who heads a construction company. Kind of weird that the president of the club heads Pavilion Construction. Heard through the grapevine that he served on a board for a private school in LO… and his company secured a contract to build there also. Not shady at all lol

These fields will be useful.
Some of the praise for this project is vastly overstated.
If you are not with wufc, how this is funded is not your business.

Yes, it will. And it has all the land owners in the area pissed off. Think about how it went down and the families that have owned that land for decades around it. They're not happy. 2 lane road to intake and release traffic....unless they're expanding the road its going to be congested as all hell

Zero % chance this gets built. Check out the nonprofit 990 form they filed with the state. They have a $1 million budget and couldn’t handle that without embezzlement, misappropriation, etc which all led them to firing 2 main admin guys. They’re gonna oversee a $20 million soccer park? Please.

Little birdie told me Ray Nelson is trying to transfer the park rights to LO or OYSA so he can lead the charge because he knows there’s no chance in hell WUFC lets him get near them again, even with his buddy Gerritz in charge.

Soccer clubs in the county have such assets? Or do they have to get private loans for such a thing?

Interesting. Who is personally guaranteeing these loans? Club founders? Seems like a lot of money is being lent out

The whole "Not in my backyard" feeling of being "special" makes me sick.
How exactly did it go down? Please tell us again how bad WUFC is. Have not heard it over the last 20 threads.
You all never stoop to low do you.
Such a May@r.
