What the heck IS this place?

I came here because my kid was looking at joining a new club and I thought I might find some info and opinions from parents. Instead, this place reads like some kind of youth soccer 4chan. Anonymous sht posting all over, very few positive (or even informative posts). Oregon youth soccer could use a place where parents and players can exchange comments, info and opinions…but I think an anonymous forum might not be it.

    Thanks for listening. Carry on.

Soccer 4chan is the best description I’ve seen yet

I don't get it either. I read the WA posts and its much more helpful. Without knowing much more than what you said, here is my advice from a parent of a kid who has been on many clubs.
        1) Ask yourself why are you looking for another club? Is it for convenience/location, better competition (the league the club plays in), wanting a different coaching style, to be around other competitive players, etc.
        2) Go watch a practice or two. I've attended games/tournaments of clubs that my child was interested in. This helps you observe the communication among players, coach to player, and how obnoxious or supportive the parents are when the team loses or wins.
        3) Check out the website and see if there is a bio on the coach. Check out the team's social media.
        4) What does your child want? To be on a winning team, to have a supportive environment and coach, or to make mistakes and develop? It's hard to have it all. Pick a team that then best fits what your child wants most right now.

Keep in mind there is no perfect club, coach or team. Your child will change in personality and performance and you are doing the right thing by exploring other club options.

I too came here about a year ago in the thick of my daughters college recruiting journey looking for some answers, help or advice and literally got chased off. Very frustrating.

Talk soccer should at least add an upvote and down vote button to wean off the plebs who sue off clubs and make accusations whilst threatening coaches or people who just rant because they’ve had a bad experience.
I feel nobody is here for that tripe

Soccer4Chan - that's the best description yet. Occasionally there is info worth digesting, but it is so peppered with silliness and Anons that it is painful.
