Wow - just scanned the lists of teams at this year's Crash and was totally underwhelmed. Best teams there are rec/select at best. Prove me wrong.

After the debacle last year with last minute cancellations I'm guessing that the only teams that registered were the one's given discounts or waived entry fees.

USYS regionals, ecnl playoffs, GA playoffs
are all going on right now in different parts of the country. if you are looking at age brackets at clash of the border then you are likely not informed.
last year I believe it was 110 degrees during that tournament weekend.

None of the teams in Oregon / SW WA are good enough to play in USYS regional, ECNL playoffs, or GA playoffs so that can't be it. Probably just like everything else with the Timbers name on it - it sucks and it's only getting worse.

WA Timbers tournaments are becoming just a cash grab for the club. They make sure to stack every bracket that they can to try and at least walk out with 1st or 2nd place, they never clean the outhouses and if told there is no toilet paper they don't care, the $10 parking is stupid, the place is a dust bowl, etc. My friend's player had to play against one of the WA Timbers teams (for DM Summer Slam - also hosted by WA Timbers) and the couch played them down a bracket so they could be guaranteed 1st or 2nd, the ref called nothing on the Timbers and allowed one of the players to elbow/punch the opposing players continuously (she ended up injuring three of their players), etc....apparently the coach was joyful about this whole thing. Turns out, he is also the tournament director for WA Timbers. Another friend has a son that played against a WA Timbers boy's team, they were heading and slide tackling (not allowed at their age) and when they realized there was no chance of catching up when they were down...they started stomping on the opposing players feet so they couldn't run/pass/shoot as well. Another friend complained that her son was playing down in a bracket they should have never been playing in (he plays for WA Timbers).
While there aren't a lot of tournaments to pick from in SW WA...there is currently talk going around (players/parents/team) about a lot of frustration with the WA Timbers hosted tournaments and it being the "WA Timbers Show". Our team usually does three WA Timbers tournaments a year and we don't have them scheduled at all next year. Just not worth it to be playing teams in the wrong brackets for hundreds of dollars, having players get injured in games with teams they should have never been playing against (skill wise) and frankly, we are no longer impressed or looking forward to those tournaments. So off the calendar they went!

Let me guess? You’re “friend’s player” is probably your kid and willing to bet they didn’t win. Also guessing your kid played at the Timbers. You sound bitter and jaded trash-talking a bunch of kids.
