Lots of high school coaches get pissy if U15s who are freshmen show up to club games on the weekend. When it's varsity kids, and travelling out of state....

This upcoming fc pdx team can either be extremely good or flop hard. I could see their ceiling being deep into regionals if the reports of the new players are true.

Lol...okay. I'll believe it when I see it muchacho. At the end of the day, this is FC PDX we are talking about. The only thing consistent about that club is that it will always be windy at Liberty

While WSM's social media game is, as usual, disorganized.... according to their Facebook page the club has named Steven Evans, son of Marc and recently returned to the club from Washington Timbers, its new Boys' Director of Coaching. The club named Cory Hand the girls' director of coaching a few years ago.
This might explain why SE returned, after leaving the club for personal reasons a few years ago (he lives, or lived, in Vancouver and had recently gotten married; commuting between the Couv and Beaverton sucks). Being DoC, even if just for boys, of one of the premier clubs in the region is a tempting opportunity--and a challenge given the rise of uPDX and a few other clubs.
As noted previously, Cony is 65 now, and still appears to be very much involved with the club, but a succession plan was wondered about... now we know. Cony is still AFAIK coaching 08 Copa Red, and will be also involved with the other WSM teams going to regionals next month (05s and 09s), but Evans is a very good get.

Seriously this isn't a puff piece, it's a father waxing about his kid. Embarassing stuff.. Could care less what local club this silly post is attached to. Please Get a Life since as we all inflate our kids journey into adulthood after their playing days suddenly vanished. But most of us tend to stay clear of this soccer vomit hole.
Stupid post.

They quietly announced that change at coaching assignments. However now that they realized they don’t have an 06 team and hurting at 08 (still need players on each per website), they are blasting the change out to get attention. I think they are the only local club still advertising openings.
