Thorns have never had a silent auction fundraiser. Nice try. Raffle “yes”. Virtual event “yes”. Both voluntary, both successful. No different than other clubs doing golf tournaments or poinsettia sales or Jamba Juice card sales or MOD pizza fundraiser nights, where people are heavily encouraged to participate. A significant amount of the Thorns fundraiser this year went to the scholarship fund. Wow. How could they? Sounds just awful…. Sigh. Double sigh….Get over yourself and your axe to grind.

To be ultra clear, one year a virtual event had a small 6 or so item silent auction attached to the event. It made the event fun and prizes were great. Apparently fundraisers to raise financial aid dollars is just a bad idea in your book.

Nothing wrong with asking other people to pay for your kid to play soccer.

You are the problem. Most people pay just fine. Raising money for kids who cannot afford it is what is needed to level the playing field. Not just raising it for yourself. You are a real winner…

Last year the girls were all very strongly encouraged (read: pressured) to sell $250 tickets to the virtual event which was supposed to pay down fees for all. They ended up giving a $200 discount to each girl but raised fees by the same amount. What garbage.

"Westside pulling out from ECNL- Discuss"

I am just glad to hear that Westside pulls out. We definitely do not need any more "little Westside's" running around.

$945 discount to next year’s player fees. Again, nice try. Go back and look at communication. Clearly you are happy elsewhere. I only correct you, so anyone else reading, won’t be misled.
