09s from all clubs have already been selected. They are in the discovery program

Bless your soul...."Discovery" is no different than WCDA, ECNL, GAL, DA, EAL, E64...badges, acronyms, and all as empty as the promises of the Timbers. There a reward good people associated with the Timbers, but the business is the business. Do yourself and your child a huge favor. Find a club with a coach that aligns with your values and where your kiddo can be happy. The rest will take care of itself.

Given that you are on an anonymous site posting about that which you do not know about, I highly doubt your kiddo is very happy, or will remain so for long. You are ignorant about TA and are so ignorant, that you do not even realize you are ignorant. You did not say with the exception of a couple of players, youI said "09's from all clubs have been selected." Such hubris. Be proud that your DS was identified, but realize that it is your son...not you. You in fact have nothing to do with what matters. I will say once again, find a good coach that aligns with you and your family's values and let your son develop.

Speaking from the perspective of a 08 TA DP parent your not exactly correct.

For the 08's in 20/21 there were several cuts and they got down to 28 or so from the original 70ish (not counting the early alliance invitees that didn't come to the real Discovery.) Those cut in the original round were not invited back post COVID.

Then the DP went away for awhile 2/2 Covid.

Then when reconstituted there was around 60ish players and throughout this year more boys were added and I believe some left on thier own? No one was cut in December like they said they would do.

A couple of notes- The DP is ran by soccer guys and is less than organized. They change plans on the fly so what they tell you now may change later.

The DP doesn't care about hurting feelings. Yours, mine or the boys. They are looking for the best players and will easily replace a kid who is not a good fit. Your kid is the customer whom must sell them that they are good enough.

Glad your kid likes it. Mine did. But do not fool yourself into thinking that the current make up of DP or current ODP team from January matters. The DP is fluid.

Your not your son. Gloating about your childs gift makes you look impotent.

Can the "yawn" "Snort" guy grow up already? If you have something to say then type it. Why do people insist on being useless?

I betcha that every kid that was/is in the TDP values their time playing on Timbers fields, using their training facility and spending time with TA coaching as well as getting to know the top kids in the state from other teams. This is value to them.
