this coach is in fact abusive. He cussed out his team after a game. Called each kid out individually and told them things like _____ is fu@king clueless and ____ is fu@king lazy and so on. These kids are 12 years old. Who in their right mind thinks that this behavior is acceptable.

It's not Thorns Academy. It varies at every age level. There is no one club that is strong at all ages for girls. Tell us the year(s) you are looking for and we can tell you the strongest teams.

You want professional, honest and opportunities to win and showcase ability. If you are one of the best in the city you need a good platform for success.

OYSA? UPDX at older ages
GA? Definitely not Bridge City
OYSA - UPDX at older ages; PCU at middle ages (08/09, but hear that may be changing next year with coach/team movement)
GA - no one in greater portland metro
youngers - SCA has best development but nowhere for kids to play. WPL is total joke.

UPDX has a few good teams, so does PCU and Washington Timbers. I would say PCU has the top younger girls teams in region, let alone the state based on the records found online. Their 09 team has won nearly every game they have played for the past 2 years. Their 08 has won everything including Xfire challenge/NWCL/state cup/08 fall/07 fall/u17 7v7 league etc.. UPDX is good as well in those ages and the older ages and could beat most of the ECNL local age groups.
Bridge City shouldn’t even be mentioned. Not sure what the heck they are doing.

PCU is not the top team, OYSA teams if they think they are all that go and play surf cup in the top two or three groups and see what happens.
