Any player who came seeking ECNL came of their own free will. They literally spoke with their dollars and their minds and decided that their former club wasn't getting them what they needed. So they made an informed decision to leave their old club and go to another club where they could maximize their development, college preparation and their recruiting opportunities.

The ECNL club provided them better competition, better training, better coaching, and more opportunities to showcase their skills. Therefore those ECNL clubs, or any other club, ABSOLUTELY gets the right to recognize them as commits.

In the end the player deserves all the credit and the club simply gets that last chance to recognize their contribution. So just eat that Crow and give props to the kid and the path they chose.

They didn’t get any of that actually. I know because half the team left because of how bad the coaching, competition, training, and opportunities were. Probably should find out why thorns fc Portland and crossfire couldn’t get enough players to go to showcases.

But let's not insinuate they didn't get better games than OYSA and better college showcases than Vegas or Surf or XF Challenge. They got 6+ years of that and were doing good for a while.
