    BU13 OPL Fall

Well it all kicks off tomorrow and from the start I see an old rivalry game FC Portland Vs Pacific FC Fire. Should be a good game.

does anyone else see any good match ups?

Although Pacific FC Fire seems improved. I predict an FC 3-1 victory in a very physical game. I think the Premier Division game of the week is WST Copa v Hood River, should be a very competitive match and with some good juicy back story too since WST recruited Hood River's two top players over their club. Let's call this one a 2-2 draw/grudge match.

I have a feeling Pacific is going to upset FC. Nothing more than a feeling. Could be wrong. I like your prediction of 2-2 on the Copa/HR game but I am going to go out on a limb and say 3-2 Pacific over FC. It would not be a major shocker though.

I heard Pacific lost their coach of many years. And agree with your prediction for that game.

But I think Copa will come out on top 2-0 over Hood River. Also, Copa over NEU 3-1.

          Interesting First Division matchups too..

With CFC and WAFC joining the fray there are a couple of interesting matchups on Saturday with BSC Black v WAFC America and WT Samba v CFC Galacticos. I'll predict WAFC over BSC 4-1 and WT Samba 4-0 over CFC.

Depends on how many A team players Samba has. If it's the typical 4-5 then yes they'll beat everyone.

              Pacific

I think this game will be close hope the ref lets it play out and doesnt get into the diving and moaning.
Two good teams not going to call it just hope we get to see a good hard fair game.

                Teams

I havent seen much of Portland FC but have seen a lot of Copa Neu and Eastside over this summer tournament season and Im not that impressed still a long way shy of the teams north of us.

FC Portland had 3 wins and 1 tie in NWCL. They are doing very well. They even beat the team that killed WST 7-1 and Pacific 5-1.

                    Pacific V Portland

well it was a 2-1 win for Portland. Great game Portland won first half but Pacific won the second.

I think watching the game both teams have a certain about of admiration and respect for each other which was great to see.

it was a hard game and the ref let things flow which was great to see.

i dont think these two teams will be far away from the top come the end of the season.

                        Drive to Bend?

What the hell happened to OPL being a Portland Metro league? Bend is now part of premier division and they no longer have to drive to Portland for games? Sorry to say this but let's hope Medford never makes it and Bend is relegated

Pretty sure Rush drives to Portland for half of their games, so it does not seem like too much to ask you to drive to Bend for a whole game! If Bend is good enough to be in the league, then they certainly deserve to play half their games at home just like everyone else. Its people like you that give the rest of us in Portland a bad name. Get over yourself.

It's not a question of deserves or not deserves. This was supposed to be a Portland Metro area league and not statewide. Read the OPL charter to see for yourself.

If we wanted to drive around the entire state, we had OYSA for that.

Not sure where you're getting your information from but it is not just a Portland based league. At U13 and above the premier teams will travel for like competition. It's only at the younger ages that they don't. I have no problem traveling to Bend once a year for a game.
