My daughter's team has thumped every BC team they have played...........badly!!! This is going to be a moot point.

The obvious answers to these are no. The question isn't whether or not the teams are good, who should advance, etc. The point is that the playing field is not the same like every other tournament. I have never seen or heard of a tournament that had an upper limit of age for some teams and not others.

This, my friends, is the problem and not defendable no matter if it was hidden in the rules or not.
"Lighten up Francis!" I don't know this Greg guy from Adam, but you apparently have very strong feeling about him. I wonder if it was anyone else if you would still be ranting. Let it go Dude! Do you think your kid really cares if he or she is playing older kids? I know my kid loves playing older kids, because she likes the competition. Last thought... Hopefully, many years from now, when your kids soccer career is over, do you want this hill to be remembered for the one you died on? Life is just to short buddy to be name calling and ranting and carrying like you have been in this forum!

Yes we do know your kid loves playing older kids. She isn't good enough to make the A team so she plays age up B team. Get real. And yes all the kids care. understand unlike your kid, she is actually on a good team and was hoping to win it. Unfortunately morons like you think its the right thing to do.

I agree with everyone who has said that you just need to get over it. If your dd's team is good then they won't have a problem with the BC teams. If they can't handle the BC teams then they are no where near ready for Surf Cup. As it has been pointed out before the teams at Surf Cup are much, much harder. My dd doesn't care one bit that the BC teams are older. Just makes it that much sweeter when her team beats them.

uhhhhhh FC Portland at GU-13 is terrible and they went to surf. They can't even beat a RCL B team. Your logic isn't good when AGAIN, they have to unlevel the playing field to get these teams in.

It's like a middle weight fighting a heavy weight and someone saying, if you can't beat the heavy weight runner up you have no shot at the middle weight title.

And if you see the difference in size, my example is pretty rock solid. PERIOD.

You are saying that what they are doing is OK and it is the RIGHT thing to do.

Bring iit on our team is always looking for the best competition! Even if it means playing a year up we try to get scrimmages so why would we complain about playing older girls now.

Agreed! Bring on the RCL teams. Let's see how that talk stands up on the field.

You are comparing a scrimmage to league play---apples and oranges. A scrimmage is almost always free whereas your team pays a lot of money to play in this league. Not to mention the cost of one or two "away" weekends.

So, sure, it's nice to get good competition. It's not nice to pay a lot of money to play teams that are older.

Agreed, especially when it could have been avoided in simply putting them on age. Unfortunately Greg has the common sense of a fruit basket.

BC: Greg, we have a problem because we wouldn't stand a chance on "age" in the US.

Greg: Don't worry, we'll have your teams play down.

BC: How is that fair? Not that I'm complaining but no tournaments in the US would allow such a thing.

Greg: We'll make it NWCL Rules

Greg: These parents are stupid, they don't really know the differences of teams a year older. If you guys don't completely destroy they will think it's even.

BC: True, what do you get out of this?

                        Greg: More money

BC: Can all our teams play age down?

                        Greg: Yes.

BC: AWESOME! Sounds like a sweet deal to me! If we win we go to Surf?

                        Greg: Yes

BC: We get to play the same age correct?

Greg: No because Surf is a program that actually abides by rules set in place to ensure fairness and overall quality you'd have to play the age your kids technically are.

BC: Seems fair, at least we have a better chance at getting there. Too bad to the other teams we will knock out and not give them a chance.

Doesn't matter how much whining and complaining you do, it doesn't change the fact that your team's 0-3 record wasn't caused by a few players on one team being a few months older than the oldest player on your team.

Again, with the name calling! And now you feel it necessary to slam my child who you know nothing about? You have now shown your true colors and as a result noone will take you seriously. How can they, with your hateful message? Btw my daughter plays on gu14 onyx. Sincerely, I'm glad your kid plays on a good team and has aspirations of winning. Kids should, but geez dude! Why all the anger? Life is too shory. Let it go!
