As the WA Premier parent posting here, this board is much more lively than the WA board so I actually follow this one more than the WA board, at least around NWCL time. Before we went down to CA for the Mustang tournament, I also followed the Norcal soccer board for a time just to try to get an idea of the teams we were playing, and posted there a few times too.

You do have to put up with the trolls on this board, but I just try to ignore them.

Oh fyi. Your 19-3 record is a lie. Unless you won every single game in the summer.


Your idea that noone has a record in WA or OR that compares to this is ignorant as there is at least two if not three in this area that have better.

And know that 19-3 even though it isn't true doesn't impress anyone when you are claiming dominance over Crossfire's 3rd team, Eastside's B team, FC Alliance...

Spokane thought they were something special too until they went to RCL and got smacked around and now they are down with you.

Might impress some of these OPL teams but doesn't impress anyone of quality.

Getting back to my original comment about this; I agreed with the poster who said they haven't proven anything yet. It remains to be seen how they will compete in Division 1. But the record I cited was accurate, and it includes wins over more than just RCL 2 and OPL teams.

Around NWCL time, I (OPL soccer parent) check out the WA soccer board and will occasionally post. Didn't think it too strange that a WA parent would do the same. Why so cynical?

you've mentioned several times that you're one of the new pick ups for WPFC. where did you're DD come from? what clubs did the others come from. and why the move?

When this conversation began, I acknowledged that WPFC has yet to prove themselves in Div. 1. Nevertheless, they've won games over more than just Div. 2 and OPL teams. They won 3 games against Division 1 teams in the Rainier Challenge. They were 3-0 in group and were the only team to beat San Juan Spirits, a top Norcal team, in the Crossfire Challenge. They finished 2nd in their group at the Mustang Stampede, which was better then either Seattle United or the Timbers. They beat Cal South state cup semi-finalist FC Arsenal Fury at Mustang. And they have not used a single guest player in any competition. Does that mean they will tear up Division 1 if they get promoted? No. It's possible they could struggle like Spokane did. But in my opinion, they've built up a strong enough body of work as U13s to think they would be very competitive in Division 1.

Chance? Of course they have a chance, will they win two games and be crowned NWCL champions probably not but they do stand a chance. They are one of the more athletic teams in the OPL and the last time we played them they were starting to move the ball around better than I have seen them in the past year or so.
