Is one of the benefits of being with Sherwood's or Tualatin's classic club that you get to use the new Timbers training facility?

Too bad. Paul Blackmore was just teeing up another rant as to how Aloha gets second class citizen status vs. Timbers affiliated clubs.

Here is the story I heard!
THPRD had promised that the new turf field would be open to all. But you know THPRD what they promise and what they deliver is usually two very different things! The WST were "secretly" allowed to start using the facility prior to it being "opened" THUSC may have been there also.
My understanding is that Milltown went ballistic when it found that out and notified all the other clubs within THJSL Those clubs started asking questions and miracle of miracles the field was opened to all clubs. Everyone is absolutely sure this was just an ACCIDENTAL oversight on the part of THPRD. Funny though how any "oversight", unintended action etc always seems to benefit one club, Bill Kanable and the WST. Hilarious actually if you think about it!
Nice job Milltown!

Possible - aing not definative
Conflict of interest - meaning no laws are broken, just one person isn't getting his way and is upset about it.

What does a rec program need a turf field for in the summer???
Turf fields are only needed in the summer for teams preparing for future competitions on turf fields, ie. tournaments.
Who cares if milltown or ausc or other rec programs use it in the summer. pointless and the useless. more than anything it will just continue to run down the fields. Great, just what we need. more teams on the few good fields we have.
I am in favor of WST and THUSC getting their own fields and then letting ausc and milltown and friends ruin the THPRD facilities. In all honesty. All clubs these clubs are stupid.

I would assume that's why Milltown was so upset as they and Oak Hills are apparently starting a competitive program and will be playing tournaments and as you so correctly pointed out Comp teams need turf to practice on.
Everyone would be in favor of WST paying for their own fields. Everyone except WST!
Why on Earth would WST ever pay for their own fields given the SWEETASS deal Kanable and Double Dip got them with taxpayers "footin' da BILL?"
Good Luck Milltown and Oak Hills with your new competitive teams!

More dilution
Aloha, Milltown and Oak Hills all having "competitive" programs. More dilution for the resources of Portland Youth Soccer. These arrogant a-holes who run these clubs need to understand that they are making youth soccer in Portland worse by adding competitive programs. Diluting the players and further stretching the scarce resources.

Until OPL and OYSA lay down the law on what one needs to provide in the way of coaching this will continue to happen.
The only other way to stop this is for one of the big Westside clubs to pony up the dollars and get their own facility which would dry up both the supply of coaches and players!
