The problem is the same in every state. In this entire country the number of coaches who are capable of real player development is a two diget number. We have world class players in America who don't even get a chance to play, and the ones who do get a chance are never actually developed or leveraged correctly in match play.
Can you name one team in Oregon who is both sucessfull and plays a possesion based style of soccer regardless of their opponents tactics. Find a team who does that, and you might have found a coach who understands player development.
The FC Sapphire team. Multiple state titles, multiple players playing division 1 college.

A lot of people will take shots at them because they are so good, which is sad. However there is no denying their quality.
The joke of it all is the simple fact that there are no more kids left from the original team. In fact the members of the team are all from other clubs.

So basically THUSC's Motto. Screw development, lets win games so we can get players from coaches who actually do what they are supposed to do.

You clearly don't know what you're talking about.

Saying stupid things on the Internet doesn't make them true.

11 of them have been with THUSC since U10.

You clearly don't know what you are talking about because more than 90% of that team has been playing together since U10. Last year they picked up a Keeper from out of State and a player from Gallium (B) team and this year a player from FC and one from NEU

Although I am bracing myself already anticipating the portland snobbery, CFC has several boy's teams that fit your description. Perhaps no coincidence, 3 of the 4 are coached by the same individual.

                  Laughable post ignoring the obvious

This style is latin soccer. Hispanics play to keep the ball. The team composition and the culture dictate this attempted style. Not any team coach. Does central america produce better players than North America? of course. So your suggestion or endorsement is more akin to having american youth move to Mexico or train with mexican americans. Mexicans national team tactics have been laughable for 50+ years, until this recent Olympic Journey. They put it all together. Sometimes it best just to point out the obvious a cultural approach to the game. America has none.
