I found it curious the Bodnar team from 3 Rivers (Tri-Cites) is maybe a top 16 team in WA and they beat LO 2-1 at the clash this weekend. I know one game doesn't tell you a lot about a team, but it does show the depth that WA has over OR. After the top 3-4 in WA their seems to be a drop off as well. The difference is WA has 20 more teams after them that can beat an LO on any given day. And LO seems to beat every team in OR except the top 3 on most days. I think we have a strong age group. Is it like this at all age groups? Is it better? Is it worse? I guess I wonder why our #5 can't seem to be as good as their #5 consistently, or even our #20 vs their #20.

XFire A
Xfire B
NWN
V Timbers 99 Reds
Seattle United
Eastside
Washington Rush
Spokane
Then it's safer to say their seperation comes after those 8. First 6 in that list are probably a bit better than Rush and Spokane, but on any given day....
3 Rivers is in the mix for top 16 in there.
most likely due to a larger population to pull from. Of course, that doesn't explain why Vancouver has 2-3 teams at this age that would challenge for top spot in OPL-- Timbers and Valencia....maybe Nemesis....

Our top three can "keep it close" with the top three from washington and really compete with the next three/four. That hasn't always been the case with the other age groups that i've been involved with. The burning question that i'm trying to figure out is whether it's that washington's group is weaker than normal or if oregon's group is just better than typical.

Valencia beat them 1-0
They got beat by a FC 3-0 in state cup who fared poorly in US club, especially against the Timbers.
Eugene is based on their showings in league play and US Club.
Timbers are 3-1-1 against them.
4th is based on the fact their is no reason to think they would beat a Valencia or FC, Eugene, based on their inconsistent play.
Scores only go so far but seeing games which I haven't but heard, its easier to see who is more dominant.

The problem with most teams is that they do not play with skill 90% of the time and rely on athleticism and ball striking so ultimately results are not usually consistent from Division 2-3 RCL including all but 1-2 team in OPL premier. Lake Oswego who look like they try to play with skill just dont have the play pool like a Spokane to pull it off.

I can tell you this from experience having 2 daughters already go through the Vancouver club system in that everyone was pretty equal at the younger age but Washington takes off at GU-13. You'll see that the comparison this year in NWCL won't be even.
Top 5 teams in RCL will be more skilled and what will be more significant is the athleticism of all the teams which they have hundreds of kids to choose from while FC, THUSC, LO split quality and Xfire, NWN, Eastside do not have to.

2-0 Timbers Vs. Valencia in finals. Heard it was domination through and through but would need confirmation on that.
