With FC Navy's 1-1 tie of Vancouver at Regionals today, I think it's safe to conclude that the V. Timbers would be well matched in OPL Premier next Fall. I hope they join, the competition will make all of the other OPL teams better.Comment

Fc Portland parent here. They literally had the ball most of the game. 80/20 first half 70/30 2nd half. Damn impressive. They couldn't capitalize on their shots on goal which was their down fall. My daughter's team (Crossfire) had a game after the FC Portland/Vancouver Timbers game, so we got to watch the last two thirds of it.
I was amazed at how well Vancouver organized their offensive attacks. Most kids this age just kick the ball, connect passes on occasion, and hope a lucky bounce gives them an open shot. But not these girls, they actually look like they know what they're doing. And I've heard that some people were claiming that their success is based on the skills and speed of one player. Wrong! She is great, but they are way more than that. FC Portland was lucky to score at the end. 9 out of 10 times VUSA wins that game.Comment
