2013 ODP Regional Camp Rosters

My child has been participating at the regional level going on her 5th year and I am amazed at how little information is available to help parents understand what the process is and how to navigate it. It is exciting and you should be very proud of your youngster!!!!!! Congratulations.

Last year's Interregional's were $650 not $1000. It is a week and for girls is located in Boca Raton Florida over Thanksgiving which is the highest flight volume time in the US. Basically any holiday is very expensive to fly so the $650 all inclusive price is not that expensive compared to any tournament that my DD has attended that required air travel. When we did the final four it was well over $1000. In any case, I don't know how much assistance can be obtained as we have never received any from anyone. Of all the tournaments that my DD has attended I would rank this at the top in terms of exposure so it could be a good fit if you are foregoing other tournaments. Also, unlike club tournaments, you do not pay for the coaches, you do not get nickled and dimed on food, yada yada and so forth. As travel soccer goes we rank this very high.

.....And what happens after you make the Region IV team? Play in the Thanksgiving Interregionals and then that's it? Another year of ODP to get to this level again? It seems to me there should be National Camp invites once you reach this level :)

This is rather obvious. Some players will get national camp invitations, most won't. And yes, every year a player gets older and needs to re-qualify to be the best in the age group. But, often a player gets chosen and re-chosen that may not be progressing. It's sports.

Depending on the age, participation at the regional level can be a huge recruiting boost. My child has already verbally committed but is continuing ODP because she enjoys the camaraderie of the regional team and hasn't given up on the national team.

It isn't like there is just one goal involved. One of my DD's teammates who made the national team dropped out of ODP because she really wasn't interested in playing that much soccer. My DD on the other hand will be delighted to get to play with the national team should that opportunity present itself. While a long shot, it isn't out of the realm of possibilities and she is willing to keep trying.

i believe that a big selection of the 99's are from Oregon ODP like 8 of them, i heard they were quite impressive in Idaho. Congradulations to all the the regional picks, great honor for them all.

Invites were emailed out. List should be out today. People are basing their predictions on the fact that 8-10 Oregon '99 girls were invited to the twilight games every night.

The biggest factor is Janine has some clout and will be a strong advocate for her year group. She also made good choices. She is one of the only Oregon ODP coaches left that can get something done.

Why are the rosters not posted yet? Does anyone have any idea as to when they should be? I know they sent emails out to some but I just want to see the full list.

In total, I believe there are 11 99's from Oregon who made it. Confirm when the list does appear. But via emails and what my DD knows, there is going to be 11.

Wow, that would be fantastic! And the boys 99 got 7 boys, and the boys 98 got 12! Both of these were tops of the states.
