A link would be good. All I can see is a note in red that reads these are 2011 pools.

It will be led by the UW staff, the same staff that turned in a PAC-12 record of 3-5-3. For comparison against other area college coaches' camps, the PAC-12 record for UO was 3-6-2 last Fall and OSU was 7-3-1. I'm mainly responding to the silly title "elite" when the players may be but the coaches less so.
A lot to take in odp camp is a major expense. My child is a 98 and went last year and this year. It has been a good experience. Her level of play has increased greatly. Honestly it is a personal decision to attend camp. It depends what your child's goals are and yours for them. My daughter really wants an opportunity to play for her national team. This is why she is going. Many parents do it for college scholarship opportunities. So really parents and their children need to identify their motives before sending a child to odp camp. This will also determine the value you seen in the camp.

My whole family is involved in comp soccer in different ways. My husband ans I attended a coaching symposium put on by national team coaches and some mls coaches a year ago. Soccer is going through major changes in our country do we can stream line identification processes to get the best national players possible so we can compete internationally with the rest of the world. There is no denying there is money to be made but most universities and colleges have camps to support their programs and players. Many are connecting to clubs and academies to increase the level of play too.

I went up to Moscow last year to assess whether it was a good choice for my child. Camp is what the child makes of it and has helped my daughter grow as a player. The kids are assessed in game situations on the first day. They play games throuhout the week. They do small sided training sessions and class sessions too. There are invitational games for kids being considered for regional pool. There are different avenues to the national team. It again depends on the goals of the player and the parents goals.

What age group is you child?
The fees depend on where the child is coming from and if flight is involved too. Etc it depends on whether you state picks up some of the tab too. Some states shoulder some of the tab and others don't.

This references 2011 and appears the same as last year. Is that a typo? Thanks

Not in Oregon. They all get on a bus together so it's the same fee. I believe the '96-'95 fees are lower since they do not go in as a team.

I think where ever you are seeing the 2011 reference is a typo. Last year was five :

                  JB
                  SP
                  ZH
                  AH
                  RL

                  This year 4

                  NA
                  ZH
                  AH
                  RL

JB and SP did not want to partcipate this year

Look at prior years as well. Oregon has had teams in the finals. Also, note the number of regional pool players originating from Oregon (especially when you include those that play soccer in Oregon that are listed as Washington). Clearly it is not a waste of time for the regional staff to include Oregon. It would be shocking if Ca South did not win most of the time as their population is close to all other regions combined. Washington had a very good year last year but doesn't always. In my participants age group the Oregon team has beat Washington more often than they have beat us. But whatever floats your boat in throwing insults.

Really. 95 and 96 girls were both in semis this past year and the year before both were in the finals.

I believe that the G95 have been in the finals in the January Regionals the last three years. They also were the first state to beat Cal South.

                            Holdover Camp

What's Holdover Camp for boys like? Is it just as grueling as Regional Camp? Any advice would be appreciated.

In my daughter's experience over the years has been that the holdover camp is much more laid back and actually fun. It isn't at all like the regional camp and the kids seem to bond more.

Some questions on holdover camp. I am new to this. What is the goal of holdover camp? Are they actually picking a regional team from the regional pool? Or is it simply just a camp to see the top players train together? Who all goes to holdover camp besides those top players? Is it just the regional coaches? Is it national coaches? Maybe some college? I have no idea. Any info would be appreciated!
