The 97s lost 0-1 a year ago to Cal South in the Finals. That would be our only disagreement, in that some ODP (EPD) programs are very beneficial for players, especially when ECNL is not an option. For Oregon's 97s and below, maybe not beneficial at all. That's where we agree again. For whatever reason, Oregon is well below par.

Give them time. Most stay with EPL the first year but then drop off after that.

I was NOT talking about our local tourney but the Western Regionals in Phoenix which I posted the link to the list of coaches AND I said the other tourneys you listed were good avenues for exposure BUT I was pointing out that here in OREGON our options are limited and comparing training with your club coach and team to playing with ODP & going to Regionals is just a silly comparison.

Additionally not every top player is on a team good enough or willing to travel to the big shows so if you are NOT on one of those teams ODP is your ONLY option short of guest play with top teams.

Having watched the past two years I think our 96 team would hold their own. Yes our 97 & 98's are short of talent but when we actually have the physical talent we would compete.

Whats more funny then a girls Oregon ODP team? A parent that actually thinks they could how their own against the best.

I think the '96 year was the last good year for ODP. Since then it's been a joke. Very sad.
