FC has a lot of talent, there DOC must not have made recommendation. Or the scouts went and watched and didn't like what they saw that day. I would hope that they watch on more then one occasion, everyone has bad games.

Trust me you would puke if you knew some of the players who got invited. They are very marginal.

Let me clarify my above post.

I am saying that some of the players who got invited are marginal, and should NOT be invited over FC players. There is one FC player there and she is outstanding, but there are others that should be invited over those that are attending. My dd has played against these players and it is rediculous, some of the players that are there.

I know of 4-99 girls from vancouver going, all from salmon creek and VUSA. I also know of at least 4 other girls from various other age groups going from Vancouver.

I would think that a few from both VUSA 99s and VUSA 97s would be in attendance as both teams have some top notch talent.

Where were the 97 and 98 girls? One would think Onyx players for the 98 group would be out there, as well as VUSA players for the 97 group, as another person mentioned above. Was this strictly for 99 players?

Just another subjective back rub.

Those that are at the top are already there. They don't have to be invited and are already identified.

Many at this age groups are probably already playing ODP and been to camp. Do you think that attending these sessions is going to provide them with anything they don't already have ? It's one night !!! Skills take training with repetitive sessions.

These are tryouts for the 2nd string or beginners.

I believe the 97 & 98 were the session before and there was several 98 ODP players there. The 99 session was far from being 2nd string, there were several of the 99 top players there. I did see some THUSC girls, but not there great ones. As for the comment about 2nd stringers or beginners, don't be mad because you weren't there, no need to have sour grapes about it and make light of what these girls are doing. Yes it was only an hour and a half, but they got to work out a session with Michelle French the current womans sounders coach, how can that be bad. Not to mention that it was on the u of p pilot field.

Like someone else mentioned it's all random selection off the list provided by your DOC. THUSC supplied a decent size list and only 5 girls were randomly chosen to go this round. Next round another 5 will be chosen to go. Same with FC and WST.

Get use to parents whose children repeatedly don't get chosen for ODP, ODP regional, US Training Center ect. to come on here and say things about it being second string and so forth. Congratulations to those youngsters that were chosen and it is something to be proud of. Good stuff!!

These were younger age groups. The last 94/95/96 was in Jan or Feb

99's were mainly ODP girls with the exception of about 5. Good workout. They liked being on Merlo Field. Not sure what may happen next. Either way, it was a good experience for my daughter.
