Almost as dumb as the most hated thread. Sounds like HS? I wonder if he likes me?

I love sunny days by the soccer pitch, with two teams who came to play. I love the atmosphere afterwards where even after playing hard the players shake hands and walk off the field shoulder to shoulder.

Are our kids that much smarter than us?

I love it when the OPL State Cup winners turn down the opportunity to attend US Club Nationals.

Loved it when my U11 dd played BSC and NEU. Both clubs parents were polite, friendly and knowledgeable about the game. There was no yelling at the refs, cursing, booing, coaching from the sidelines , and ear splitting screaming like banshees.

Next Year's Fake Cup winners will have to go to regionals to get to nationals!

As parents paying for expenses you have to make choices. US Club Nationals is the weekend before Surf Cup. By winning NWCL we also received automatic invite to Surf -- Surf is closer, better competition, and San Diego is awesome. Love to do both, but time and money didctate our choices

While the competition isn't as good at US Club Nationals as FWR most Oregon teams can't win in the super group at US Club. What's the point about complaining that the US Club Nationals suck if your team isn't even the best one there?

Chicago or San Diego Surf Cup? Really? This is an easy decision. You must be new to this. Very few states were at the National tournament in Boise last year. Competition was still fine,
but eastcoast teams and midwest teams were not there. It is soccer you can find competition alot closer, no need to break the bank

But yet if you made it to FWR, won, and then onto the National Championship, which would you attend ?

                          Surf

                          or

Natty (regardless where it is being held in the US)

I know where Id spend my money to attend.

Tough one! Winning Surf or winning National would both be a great accomplishment.

                              Chicago v. San Diego

Your post is confusing. The cost will be about the same to get to and stay in Chicago or San Diego. That one is a wash. Regarding competition, you note that last year there weren't a lot of east coast and mid-west teams in Boise. Don't you think Chicago is a whole lot more appealing to them than Boise? I do. It's certainly easier to get to from just about anywhere in the country.

Surf Cup v. US Club Nationals? It depends upon the goal. If it's to get college looks then Surf is better. If the team can win, winning a national championship is better. "We won the national championship" sounds a whole lot better than "we won Surf Cup." Run it by a non-soccer person and see what type of reaction you get. An explanation that the Surf Cup has better competition blah, blah, blah will be returned by that "whatever" look.
