What team does your dd play for because by OPL standards Gallium is an "A" team. Seem to me they also played well in State Cup. So that would be two teams in premier.

I think Gallium is a great little team and could do just as well in Premier as some of the bottom teams. They proved that in State Cup by tieing Eastside and beating Pride. They were very unfortunate to have to play Onyx in the quarter finals. I hear at tryouts they picked up some pretty good players so I would look for them to do quite well in Division 1 this Fall.

70 boys is a strong number, especially for U13. Definitely curious if the 'Timbers Alliance' drove that number up or if they would have gotten that many anyway.

Is it true that some of the B team kids made Barca this year? If that's true then tryouts must not have been as good as they had thought.

Now I heard this information second hand (My son goes to school with some of the kids) so who knows if it's true.

Tryouts were that big. Kids on the B team were that good. Sorry that you're not used to a club that develops players and the B team kids actually have a chance to make the A team.

There were 2 kids on the B team that would make any A team in the state, including FC PDX. Barca is going to be much stronger than last season. No Question.

Doubt that. I've seen the B team play. I understand one of them is probably your child so I understand why your so defensive. If tryouts were as big as they were made to be on this forum then none of the B team kids would of made the A team. They didn't make it last year when the tryouts had less kids so they wouldn't make it this year with talent from all over.

I have no doubt that Barca and FC will battle for the top spot again. Hood River had a very good team as well. I assume with there location so far away that they kept all of there team together. Anyone know what happened at the NEU and Pacific Fire tryouts?

Saw some Hood River uniforms at the WST tryouts. The boys from the B team were added after tryouts last season.

More talent at WST U13's

Hood River talent moved to WST. Also, 3 of the U13's from last year came back to their age group. Should have 2 teams in the top tier, not sure if HR will stay, losing their best talent.

Will be an amazing year battling with FC. No other team should even be in the picture for next year.

How will they have 2 teams in premier? I thought you had to work your way into premier by winning in division 1? That wouldn't be fair to the teams that did.

That's a good point. WST has many out of district kids and probably even more now. Many from Portland and Hillsboro. Wonder if THPRD is going to enforce their 50% rule?

It's only on the east fringe of THPRD; specifically included to drive the parents of U6 rec players crazy because they think that little Johnny/Joanie should have equal access to THPRD fields for their rec teams.

Let the kids go where they will; don't you want the best competition to play your team?

Who really cares where a kid is from and where they play soccer? If a Hillsboro kid wants to play at Southside who cares?

For those that say all the WST kids(especially boys) are on Scholarship.....it's just not true.
