    Timbers Portland Rain

Did anyone attend tryouts yesterday? Thoughts? There doesn't appear to be any available information on the Rain on either the WPSL or Timbers websites.

My DD was there and my observations are based solely on my opinions. There were about 25 - 30 participants at the tryouts and most were highly skilled, fit and fast. I am not sure where the other participants originated from although my daughter thought there were some Portland State girls and some community college players. It is not yet clear to us how the season will work, where practice will be held etc.. My daughter did indicate that they were told that games would be played in Jen Weld stadium which made her very happy! We are still waiting to hear the result and will hopefully have more info soon.

Most of the girls will be added to the roster in a month or two. Several of the key players from last years undefeated first team are still away at college.

They have more girls coming. Don't expect a full final roster anytime soon.

Being in the pool whether you get rostered or not will provide some amazing and FREE training. The younger ladies who are there will learn so much from the older players who bring experience and skill. Simply put it is the best training I have seen.

I especially like the idea of those player that are going to school somewhat locally, they have a place to play with such high caliber players.

They do have a few more coming but they won't wait for a month or two. The league is over at the end of July. They have a now have a pool and will roster each game even though they did name a team and a practice team that isn't set in stone. The talent is deep and the team and the entire pool look great.

Sorry. I meant to write VANCOUVER TIMBERS which is now VUSA + WSA.
Also forgot to mention that the 7/22 U23 game is Timbers vs. Sounders and the 8/6 Clash game is Timbers vs. Crossfire. Both should be awesome! The Timbers Rain schedule is TBD at this point.

Most are adults some post college and others home from college for the summer. There are also the usual regional and national ODP teenage players. Very good talent.
