I'm no FC fan. They have a lot of issues and are a fairly unpleasant group of people (coaches not parents), but if this kind of success holds, it will be hard to argue that they are not the area's strongest club with the best program. Given the number of players available to the OSSA consortium, they are underperforming. Eastside and Westside continue to punch above their weight.

OSSA had GU15, GU16 and GU17 in the finals and 15's and 16's are State Champs. The program doesn't even bring the girls together until U15. Looks like they might be doing something right.

Yes they are doing something right, just not many things. Their success is about the same as WSM and Eastside, but they are able to draw many of the best players in the State from 4 different programs formally, and other programs too. Not a bad program, they just seem to be doing less with more, whereas ESUFC and WSM are doing more with less. By the way you left out the fact that OSSA BU16 was also a state champion.

Maybe things will be different next year, but if not then you have to wonder...

What more could they do? Just curious as we are not from one of the four clubs that feed in to OSSA but were considering moving at some point, daughter is current U13.

Well if I were you, I would ask the respective clubs about practice time. About auxiliary programs, like soccer specific SAQ's, positional workouts, informal cross gender and age group playing opportunities. How are the coaches structured? How are they assigned to teams. What is the roll of the head coach, the assistant, the DOC's, or age group coordinating coaches? What is the overall developmental philosophy. Ask to speak to the DOC's. Ask to speak to the Head coach of your DD's age group. How many teams do they coach? How busy are they? If you get coherent responses that sound plausible, all the better. Don't be fooled by bluster or posturing. Be skeptical. Compare answers.

            Go now in peace.
(just kidding about the last part)

What do you want from a team? If college exposure you need to see where the teams in that club go. If just playing go anywhere.

                Is this accurate?

Per the OPL website They show the BU14's as FCP won that as well. Therefore, that would be Six State Cup Champions. Or are they mistaken?

And give just two Titles to Eastside (u11g and U18b)

Yeah, looks like you are correct. It would appear FC got 6 Championships, 3 boys and 3 girls.

I believe that is a mistake. BU14's was Eastside. I believe FC has 4 State Cup this year.

F.C. Portland won five State Cups for sure. If the U14B score is correct, it would be six Championship wins.

But the U14B score took forever to post. The OPL 'tweeted' it as a win for Boca, but on their web page it clearly states, and has for some time, that it was a tie game and FCP won (P.K.'s). So something isn't right with one or the other. Or was the game contested or something?

Unless the game was contested, FCP lost in PKs. I was at the game.

There should be an astrick by the U14B and U15B champs since the best teams (U14B WUSC, U15B Rush) went OYSA and probably would of won the OPL State Cup. I'd also say OYSA has the best teams in Oregon at U13B. WST got knocked out of the finals. Can't believe WST lost to WAFC who has all volunteer coaches.

Yeah and while we're at it let's engrave the trophy now for the 2013 champions because it doesn't matter what happens on the field. We'll just crown the best team champion whether they actually play or not
