There is no question in GU17- OPL champ already beat one OYSA finalist. OPL champ will not have played the OYSA Champ this year. Maybe the two can get together for a friendly.

Glad they will likely be representing Oregon at regionals though.
OR U16 Rush has not beaten OSSA/LOSC or THUSC in the last 3 years. They have not played each other in 2012 and they did tie Sodium once in early 2011. Other than that, OSSA/LOSC and THUSC have both been able to manage wins, though they have mostly been close.

Not that it particular matters, but I'll bite. THUSC beat Rush in Mustang during summer 2010. I believe anyone who was there will acknowledge that it was a very good, tight possession-oriented game. They have not played since. Rush has never played what is technically now OSSA. They did play "LO" in state cup 2010 in a great game, with Rush knocking LO out of the tourney in what was a very unfortunate draw for both teams. That is the last time that Rush has played LO/OSSA. Rush has done FWRL in 2011 and 2012. Did they tie THUSC in early 2011? Maybe, but that sure doesn't seem right since Rush was in FWRL that spring. Maybe in a friendly. I do know that each of the teams has changed quite a bit since Summer 2010, and I would venture to guess that each team has a number of girls who will be playing D1 in a few years if they desire. I'm not bold enough to predict who would win, but it's difficult for me to believe that they wouldn't be very good games. (Same with a few other teams, quite frankly.) I also know that the Rush girls and their parents have always had a great experience with the Oregon U16 kids and parents. Never any issues and many of the girls and parents keep in touch. It's been quite fun to see them all develop, and hopefully OSSA and THUSC will do great things in Surf Cup this year.

Until Gavin gets bored with it and decides to try something else...at that point all the cards will be in the air. OYSA will be teetering, all the other OPC members will be so pissed at Gavin that they will turn away.

Wake up people both organizations are in downward death spirals.

            No to OYSA

OPC stay the course we are so much better off without OYSA and now with the DA coming on board haivng flexible creative league is what we need.

If you team wants to stay OYSA that is fine.

My DD is from the U16 Rush team and we have not played any OPL teams since she came to the team in the fall of 2010. Maybe she was at some other event but it doesn't ring a bell.

There is plenty of question in GU17...

The fact that FC beat Ireland 3-2 the last time they met really doesn't prove anything. Ireland's record against FC over the past three years is overwhelmingly in Ireland's favor (FC has won only twice). Saying FC is now the better team makes as much sense as saying the Blazers are better than the Miami Heat if they manage to win one game.

Did anyone say that FC was better than Ireland. Ireland is the best team in G17. They are not the OPL state champs. They may to be able to claim the OYSA state champs this year.

Then again... maybe they will get shut out. They will still be the BEST Gu17 team.

                    Here's a Difference

OPL didn't charge for parking at its State Cup. Will the OYSA money grubbing never stop? The finals are at Hillsboro High School. That's a public school with a big, accessible parking lot the requires no work or preparation by OYSA. It's offensive and OYSA should reconsider whether the few extra dollars are worth the cost of whatever dignity it has left.

The school is charging for their facilities. If you are not in the OYSA cup why would you care??

Our team is in the state cup final and I do care that a State Final is being played on these crap fields.

The school will be paid for their field use, I assume an hourly rate. For OYSA to allow them to charge for parking (if it is true) then this is messed up. They should have written in the contract that there wouldn't be charges for parking.

I do and I do care. I don't like being nickeled and dimed. A big fee for not much play, player cards for a fee and now paying to park my car to watch.

And I can't believe how much your kids club charges for tuition either ..... What a rip off. You should just quit and save the money for their college education. But them you'll bitch about that cost too.

Best idea yet is a cheap gun and end it so your suffering will be over

I have a feeling that OYSA has made a deal with Hillsboro High to not charge them for use of the fields. In exchange the high school can charge for parking. I believe this is what Mike Morris does with his Mt Hood Challenge. Saves them a lot of money of field fees, not sure why the high school would agree to this as they have to do the work but from my understanding they do it this way for the Mt Hood Challenge would imagine this was the deal for the State Cup finals as well/
