Congrats to FC. Strange not to see WSM Galacticos or Premier in the finals.

Galacticos losing in quarterfinals to a non OPL club isnt exactly the outcome one would expect from the core of future Timbers DA team...... no matter what excuses may be put forth.

If you were remotely aware of youth soccer in Oregon you would have realized they are talking about the State Cup.

WSM Premier (U-18) did not enter the OPL State Cup.
They chose The OYSA State Cup path as a way and a chance to qualify for Far West Regionals

                BSC is an OPL Club

BSC is an OPL club. Scott Thompson has done a great job with that group. They played with great team spirit and hustled from start to finish. Sure their win was an upset but it was hardly undeserved.

I know Premier wasn't registered (frankly why should they; none of the Oregon teams have beaten them in years) but it's still strange not to see them in the finals.

Virtually no one has beaten Galacticos in years either. That is why you play the game. Kudo's to BSC.

As has been widely put forth on this forum, boys game will suck because "all the best players will be doing DA". Given this result, not sure that talent gap is nearly as large as some would like you to believe.

                    DA

Only the best Westside players will go to the adidas bias DA. They take a few non-Adidas club players to make it look real. John Bain and the Timbers aren't fooling anyone.

Galacticos parent here. Congrats to BSC. They gave us a heck of a game last year too. We struggle with their style, and Scot T had them believing. I would say that we had more quality opportunities and a controversial ball pulled out of the net, but their victory was by no means undeserved. Quite the opposite in fact. Galacticos are one of the teams wishing to test themselves at USYS regionals, so we still have that goal to look forward to should we take care of business here in OR -- you know we won't be looking past anyone! I would also like to say that overall our boys handled themselves well in defeat and am proud of that. While we all would have loved the victory I believe that this will be a great learning experience for our team and hope to see that manifest itself in some spirited training this week. Congrats BSC on a great win. Good luck OSSA and FC in the final and tear it up in the Windy City!!
