    U15 Girls

Any State Cup predictions? FC look to be the favorites as they won the league. But the OSSA teams look good too. Also any comments on how the season went? How have the teams done out of state?

I see where you're picking PCU over OSSA White West. This should be a hard fought game of two equally competitive teams. To me it's a coin flip who will win this one. It might even go to a tie breaker to decide. Whichever team advances will be no match for FC PDX in the Semis.

FC Portland is the best team in the State and will take care of EMFC in regulation. EMFC is a quality team but not in the same league as the girls in Navy & White from Portland.

OSSA 1 should dispense of THUSC in regulation. THUSC will make it a game no doubt but in the end they just don't have the horsepower to beat OSSA 1.

The OSSA Blue 2 vs Eastside pick is interesting. OSSA 2 can claim the winter league win but the Tottenham team played FC PDX extremely tough in State Cup pool play. This should be another very competitive game. Eastside has been hampered by key player injuries. If they're all healthy this could be the GU15 dark horse because on paper everyone has probably counted them out at the quarters. Whoever wins this will most likely face OSSA 1 in the semis which is in my estimation is the second best team in the State. Win will go to OSSA 1 to match up with FC PDX in the finals.

Spoiler Alert: don't be surprised if Eastside somehow makes it to the semis.

Agree. FC Portland are 2012 Champs

FC has an easy path to the finals. How did 3 of the 4 best teams end up in side of the draw. when FC Portland was the 4th seed.

OSSA I is the best team by a fair margin from what I've seen. FC Pdx is quality number 2, but closer to OSSA 2 and Tottenham than to OSSA I.. Credit to the OSSA team who won three of the 4 brackets and to PCU who performed very well. Agree with the previous post about Tottenham. They proved their quality by tying FC in the first game and lost out on winning the bracket only on goal differential.

Certainly Agree that FC Portland has the easier path to the finals.
If OSSA 1 makes it they'll be pretty beat up by that time and I'd have to go with a relatively fresh FC Portland to take the trophy this year.

Also agree that Tottenham could be a spoiler. They have been very inconsistent. If they are "on" they could surprise a few folks. Odds are they're out after this weekend. OSSA 2 had their number this winter with a 2-0 win.

Tottenham has been hit hard during league season with top players out due to injury. But players are now returning and after tying FC then beating them in Pks 2 weeks ago, they are looking good! Good luck to all this weekend!

Anyone see the games this weekend? We are out of the cup so I missed them. Any comments or predictions? Seems like the games were a little closer than expected maybe.

Congrats to FC Portland and OSSA 1 for making it to the finals! My prediction of ESUFC Tottenham being a "spoiler" almost came true as they made it to the semi-finals. (I suppose OSSA 2 sees them as spoilers)
Still going with FC Portland to take it all!

So as I understand it, the 4 semi finalist state cup teams qualify for NWCL next year.
FC PDX, OSSA 1, ESUFC Tottenham, and OSSA 3. Congrats to all, and best of luck this weekend to FC and OSSA 1!!

                    final game

regardless of predictions and past results the 2 top teams are playing, FC and OSSA. FC beat OSSA 3-2 the 2nd or 3rd game of the season. who is going to win? who knows, we will find out soon enough..the facts remain just that. OSSA out scored all opponents something like 27-30 or so to 1 after that loss. They have lost one game since in PK"s in Vegas. i think if you ask the girls who played both teams, you would get a true and educated opinion who is the better team..I dont know. I havent seen both teams play much...Anyone can beat anyone, thats why they play the game. good luck girls. either team will represent Oregon and OPL well.

Agree the two best teams are playing. But come on get out of your "comfort zone" and make a prediction! You seem to building a case for OSSA so just come out and pick 'em!
I think FC Portland is the next GU15 Champion!

                          My take on score

I haven't seen but a handful of these two team's games, but my opinion is a bit different than most. I believe they are evenly matched with reasonable defenses given the offenses they are facing, and therefore believe that the final score will be 1-0. My nod goes to OSSA, as FCP has seemed to choke a bit as a club in the important games. We'll know soon. The wild card here is GK performance. Not sure how I would rate one team over the other as to an advantage.

4 seems like a lot of goals against either team. I think both GK's are U of J keepers.

I didn't know that they played for the University of Jacksonville! Didn't realize they could be U-15 and college students, too. Well, I need to pay more attention.
