    OPL Timbers State Cup

Just noticed that OPL's state cup is a Timbers State Cup.

Several Teams Forfeit their Saturday games?

Score Reporting – All scores must be reported by the end of each game day. If scores are unreported, then they will be recorded by the Tournament Director as a forfeit by the listed home team. OPL Rules for State Cup

Several FC Portland teams & a couple other teams as of this morning still do not have their scores posted for their home games. Is OPL really going to forfeit their games now?

It could be that the scores were recorded but they just haven't been updated yet.

I was under the impression it was updated automatically either by the managers calling a number and pressing the correct buttons or by some phone app. Can anyone verify? It would be interesting if they actually upheld the rule.

This morning it looks like only the U16 bracket hasn't been updated. Weird.

On the boys side there are several not recorded. The U-16 girls updated last might for the Eastside score to be recorded.

Yep that OPL they really know how to run a tournament!

And if anyone thinks they are going to enforce that forfeit rule I have an old bridge of over the Columbia for sale!

Good and quick way to get the manager/coach to receive a few text emails on a Sunday morning

I hope they don't enforce the rules. I know if our team lost to one of the teams that didn't post scores I wouldn't want the "pity win". Yes they should post scores but it's not the end of the world if you don't know scores today.

So, if I'm interpreting your post correctly you're saying we should all throw the state cup rules out the window? I mean if you're going to ignore one you might as well ignore them all.

Why would we expect the OPL to run a tournament where they had to enforce the rules on one of their own board member teams? They have a poor track record holding member clubs accountable for the actions of their coaches and DOC's.

If that's the only way your team can advance then I completely understand.
