Thought it might be fun to list our favorite SOCCERisms ... those words or phrases that you only hear on the sidelines of the "pitch" (see there's one!) whether from spectators or yelled by coaches.

I think one of my favorites is "UNLUCKY!" ... especially with a British accent. Cracks me up! Just don't seem to hear that with other sports!

One I really like -

"Ambitious" when referring to a shot taken from well outside a players range that either falls right to the keeper or goes soaring into the crowd.

"couldn't finish your dinner!"

Naive. Usually when referring to defensive tactics.

"couldn't cross your legs!" (let alone the ball)

The best part is either saying these with a British or Scottish accent... can't wait to use these this weekend.

The last post just reminded me a this - has anyone seen the Alaskan Airlines ad with John Spencer as a flight attendant? It is hilarious. I believe one of the lines is "right prat with his smartie phone"

I love that commercial! I love spencer's hand signals for the exits ... cracks me up every time. I'm so easily amused!
