Looking for open positions, does anyone have any suggestions?

    #2
Advice from crazy soccer parents, really?

Someone told me about this site and I can't believe the moronic posts from parents. At first I thought that maybe it was a soccer thing; so I viewed many of the other state's. What I found is that most of the crazy soccer parents reside in Oregon. I can't believe a coach would want parental advice. Parents get a life and do something good and positive

        Here's the best advice.

Goto both the OPL and OYSA's websites. There you will find a list of all their member clubs, along with the contact info. Find some that are within your geographic area and either email or call them direct to learn about the possibility of employment.

Do [b]NOT]/b] post your references here nor seek anyone's advice. There is bound to be a whole slew of people that think their better then you telling you what to do, that have NOTHING to do with the clubs that you want to work for.

Do you own thing and make up your own mind.

I don't know if you are established here or new. If you are established, then you probably know a lot of other coaches so if you have not asked them about potential openings, then I would do that. If you don't have a network here, try to meet some coaches via the OPL website, looking at High Schools and the coaches there, and by going to some games and meeting the coaches. Networking works in most other industries for locating openings so I would assume that it would work for soccer coaching positions. Good luck.

For a typical example of moronic posts, please note the quoted post above. Typical poster on this site, calling out all of the others for being moronic, by being moronic. Thank you for adding nothing to this thread.

Umm, the original poster is correct. This board has some seriously warped people on it. I use it for information which can be found here, not for the company.

Thank you for telling us all how special you are. Now, do you have advice for the original poster or are you just wasting everyone's time?

Don't apply at Southside, unless you have a kid on the team that you want to get paid to coach. What a joke that club is. And their DOC is spineless to make any change.

Could try Aloha United. Had a good thing going a couple of years ago and the board disintegrated it. Realized their folly, got rid of dead wood and are trying to right the ship. They could use a qualified coach. If you have enough or a resume they would make you director. You would be working from the ground up, but if you are looking for a challenge, that would be it.

Go to Washington Soccer Academy. Gary will take anyone regardless of their reputation, criminal record, ethical conduct, etc. He just hired someone ignoring all of those. As long as you can bring a few kids with you, he will welcome you with open arms.
