I've seen similar in Oregon soccer on the girls side and nothing has happened. The opposite happens, the girl(s) have been rewarded as long as they play well and pretend that their little outburst didn't happen.

Really? A full on attack such as this? If so, I sure hope it's an extremely rare occurance.
Personally I have never seen this in girls youth soccer. A few red cards for dangerous play but never fists ....

        Not in the OPL

The one instance in the OPL that I'm aware of the player was suspended for 3 games including a state cup game and asked not to come back to her club the following year.

I know that if this happened at the HS level here would be a similarly harsh penalty.

          really?

[QUOTE=Unregistered;726368]The girl did look like she knew how to throw a sucker punch and it is very doubtful it was the first time. Something tells me that the parent of this child likely would't be phased by a legal action. This may be something that is just part of their life.

          Biggot!

Great comment, especially so that you are too dumb to spell a five letter word.

Listen to how idiotic your statement is "When you are paying a lot of money to play, this type of thing doesn't exist" Wow that is truly an incredible statement. So no one in the inner city should be able to play? No one should play for free or at a low cost?
That statement on its own is why the USA will never be a world power in soccer. Its a suburbia sport for rich kids, along with that come many pitfalls... such as lack of hunger, lack of motivation and the "its about me" mentality, etc... You should be ashamed of that statement and if your truly believe it, I feel sorry for you.

You find that comment offensive? Who is the bigot? The reason that you might be so upset is that your mind went somewhere where the comment did not. Look in the mirror as you and try to get a grip or perhaps you are carrying a chip. For your children's sake I hope that they do not conduct themselves this way.

How f'in stupid are you? Well, actually, it's pretty clear. You don't understand basic human incentives and goals. It's the same reason that successful people don't rob banks. Robbing a bank has the same upside to everyone, yet the downside from getting caught is higher for the person with the successful career. Do people with successful careers rob banks - yes, but it is very, very rare. The majority of bank robbers are people who don't have careers and who feel that the downside of going to jail isn't that bad compared to the potential of getting away with the crime and the upside it brings.

A club soccer player usually doens't want to jepordize the thousands of dollars they've spent on club soccer. But if you play for free, you don't have that downside. Now, go give Sam Adams a hug and he will make you feel all better. Just don't take your teenage son with you or he might take him into his office and lock the door.

So because you pay to play.. you are better? You act better? You are superior?
Give me a break. That is pretty stupid.

No, but I bet it makes one better at reading comprehension, so clearly you don't pay to play.

Nobody said anything about a player being 'better' if they pay to play. They were referring to the fact that someone who pays would probably think twice about acting in this manor opposed to a player playing for free might think they have nothing to lose by acting inappropriately.

Thank you for supporting my view. Could this happen in club? Sure, but it is much less likely than in HS. Another reason that this is much less likely in club is that they play so many games, you get used to bad fouls and the players don't overreact.

What we are dealing with here on this board is a parent of a kid who only plays high school and is overly sensitive about it. They think that I am saying the every HS does this when all I am really saying is that it is more likley to happen there.
