As its been mentioned here before. Any team that is worthy of winning the OYSA state cup and then mounting a challenge at the FWR's is far better off going that route.

You always have the US Club tourneys in Seattle and Boise as a back up if you want.

Cal South I expect to see Fullerton Rangers, the defending national champions for boys u15, I expect to see Sereno, I expect to see one of the big Washington Clubs, probably Crossfire.

The difference that many on here don't seem to get is you need to qualify, so only One team per state comes unless you have a wildcard, or a FWRL spring or fall champion.

Your question is therefore wrong from a couple of angles, you can't name who will be champion before the championships have been decided. Also this is not like Surf, or Dallas Cup, or US Club regionals where it is open to general application. You qualify and you play the best of the best.

I am not implying you play the best players in the world, there may be players who do DA, there are the junior national teams. It is the best club teams in the country that come through regionals/nationals.

Since we don't have any DA teams or ECNL teams in Oregon it is pretty ridiculous how wound up everyone gets about them.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;715894]Your right. Ireland has proven they can up and move. That only means loss revenue to THUSC and a gain to where every they might

Where would they land? Who would take them as one? I would say each player would have to find their own club.

there are a number of clubs that would openly invite them in for their last two years of playing youth. these are the same clubs that actively play in both of the sanctioned leagues and put their teams where the best fit is.

I bet the teams coached by the director are NO....Onyx and Sodium. Ireland, what have they to lose. They are old enough that a threat to kick them out of the club if they don't follow the orders is toothless. Good for Ireland.
Actually, it was Onyx, and we were encouraged to do OYSA.

Can't think of one. Give an example. It would not be for 2 years--only 1.

                Here fishy.....fishy.....fishy !!

Your a smart person, take a look at what clubs are playing both sides. Well, come to think of it, Ireland did move from SSC to THUSC and their both OPC members. Hmmm, maybe that then widens the search a lil further. (~ scratching forehead with middle finger ~)

Your correct, about the 1 year. Unless THUSC said no to them now and they up and left tomorrow.

A couple of years ago, OYSA changed their policy to allow teams (not just individuals) to register direct with them, for those playing outside their sanctioned leagues to participate in FWRL. THUSC could do just the same. Not go anywhere else and operate al-a-carte. The parents on this team are a smart bunch and waded thru the worst of matters already and came out just fine in the end. Im sure they could handle another 18 months. Quality coaches are out there that are not participating in youth soccer in our state, should theirs not choose to follow.

You qualify and you play the best of the best.
No, you play the best of the best who APPLY to their USYS Sanctioned State Cup, win that tournament, and then opt to participate in the USYS Regionals. A LOT of teams are entering their USYS State Cup, and then not going to Regionals, and instead going to ECNL Nationals. There can't be a whole lot of prestige in winning a regional championship, if these teams are skipping to go to the ECNL Nationals. If you want to be the best, you have to beat the best -- not just the best of who applied to play.

BS. You have no way of knowing that until after the state tourneys. There is no team out there advertising that if they win state cup they will elect to go to ECNL Nationals. The ECNL Nationals also have not been determined yet and won't be determined until after New Jersey at the end of May. There is a difference between those teams that will be playing for the ECNL Championship and those will just be playing. There also is no conflict between FWR and the ECNL Championships at U16-U18. The odds are at least 50/50 that the winners of the SoCal and NoCal state championships (USYSA) will not be ECNL teams, and the odds are even higher in other states that a non-ECNL team will win the state championship, except perhaps CO.

Like Who ? There are 13 state cup winners and 1 wild card. How many of those potential 14 teams are NOT playing in the USYS R4 tourney, but instead have the potential to play in the ECNL tourney ?

Looking at the foot print map, there are only 7 potential state champs which might make up your list and if all win their state championships (and thats a BIG if) i would be amazed.

Some of the best clubs are also US Club soccer so they are not able to compete in the USYSA tournaments. Not all the best teams are at regionals. Once you take out the US Club teams, ECNL, and DA teams you're missing a lot of top talent. Might as well just go to Surf Cup instead and really face the "best of the best".

I didnt know that US Club had teams. Learn something new every day.

I know that players are often registered by clubs that choose to participate in US Club activities, as some also do in USYS and AYSO, but that doesnt preclude them from registering at the same time with other sanctioning organizations and playing in their authorized leagues as well. Some might even do both at the same time.

Since only a select group of teams ever get invited to Surf, and only those very elite teams get the chance to play in the very top division of Surf, it only effects maybe 1-2 teams in our entire state at the very best. Your players team must be one of those gifted.

For the rest of the state which make up the majority of the players, why would you limit, or even suggest that anyone limit ones ability to play at the highest level their eligible for ?

Be proud of your players team and their accomplishments as I am proud of mine. Someday we too hope to be able to participate in one of these prestigious events.

Many clubs are strictly US Club registered so you would be missing those "teams". Regionals is not what it was 3-4 years ago. I'm not saying not to go but if you truely want to face the best competition there are tournaments out there that will do a much better job of supplying it.
