Not sure what the purpose of this is? Premier teams playing B level teams. The Premier teams are scoring big and the B teams are getting killed. So remind me again, how does this help the Premier teams? They are obviously playing down and the B teams have got to be getting frustrated. Very lop sided at the U-14 level.

Agreed. THUSC and Tualatin Metros U14 Girls are dominating the B teams by 5-0.... 7-0
The B teams are really out of their league... literally.

Why do Ptd premeir teams go up to Seattle and play tournaments when they constantly get beat up by Washington teams.
Waste of time for those Washington teams.

Get your facts straight...........Not sure about the Girl teams, but the boys Oregon Premier teams have been very competitive, not just WA, but in California, AZ etc.

Great job beating Crossfire in PKs. I wouldn't say "crushed" the WA Crossfire A team if you only won in PK.

however the posters point is that Oregon teams are not getting killed in NWCL. There are competitive games occuring.
Rather than the 11-1 and other scores that are occuring. I understand why OPL did this; teams that are wanting to play in State Cup this is the type of competition you will face so you need to step up your game.
However this does a disservice to the Premier teams that need to get ready to play other premier teams. If you have been playing lower level teams some times your intensity and playability drop to the level you are playing against.

I also agree with you 100% about the Spring schedule. Not only do we play a weak schedule, but we play many of the weak teams twice. Complete waste of time. It is not fun for any one to win or lose 5-0 every weekend.

Our son plays U14 and is on one of the competitive premier teams. I agree with a previous poster that the effort and energy put out by his team has went down since the games are so lopsided. The last two weekends they played B level teams and easily won. He plays defense so naturally, he was bored. The entire game was in the opponents side and the offensive players were having a great time pummeling the goalie and breaking down the defense. It was hard to watch.

Let's see, i'm a parent of a "B" level boys team. I can tell you that it's been an eye opener for us playing so far. Our boys have had to see what they need to work on to be more competitive. It's been good to get the opportunity to play the premier teams. I'm not sure they view it the same way, but we appreciate the opportunity.

Teams need to learn to play their game and play the same no matter what the competition is. They need to learn to bring it everytime, not just the tough games. This is a great opportunity to do that. It's also a great coaching opportunity and a good chance for everyone to get field time and try new positions. Let's try to look for the positives and not just the negatives.
Who ever is doing state cup needed to start earlier so that's what happened. Playing the B teams isn't always fun but there is also something to gain.

At the same time I just worry that teams can become complacent because they are not being challenged. However it is up to the coach to keep that from happening.

There is no reason for results like we've been seeing on the girls and boys side 11-1, 7-0, 5-0. It's boring soccer. This thread has nothing to do with negativity. Just the truth. You can't ask kids to "bring it every time" that's ridiculous. Bringing it requires a spirit of competition, and ODP and classic players don't want to play down.
