We play the U14 ESU team, trust me, there is only one player on that team that would start for our team. She is NOT an ODP regional player.

It will help as she is a great player but 1 player can't make that much of a difference at the U14 level. If that is all ESUFC is getting then I don't see them finishing any higher than 4-5 next season.

Do not know about her. But do know that Sherwood will be getting a couple of girls that are currently playing on the U14 Tualatin Rage...minimum.

Am assuming the merge and new coach will attract others.

Strange thread. I've always found Sherwood parents and players to be polite, respectful and humble.

Don't know who started this but it seems out of character from Sherwood, especially the U13G who are a decent premeir team, but hardly a standout.

Last thing this board needs is another club with egos like . . . . oh let's just say I hope U13 Sherwood parents and players aren't going to be full of themselves.

I think with a new coach coming in for the Timbers along with a couple of other ODP players coming their way for the Fall season, that would make at least 8 ODP players on that team. I say their chances of coming in top 3 look pretty good. Not too bad for a team that has also brought up at least 4-5 "B" team players in the last year....... I'm a parent from a higher ranked team than Sherwood and I would have to say the Timbers parents have not only been kind and respectful but also often complement our girls after every game. Personally, I'm more concerned going up against Eastside than Sherwood in the fall......Not to mention LO who handed Sherwood a 4-0 loss last fall....

Um not sure how they will do that as Rage only has one U13 player

You are wrong. There is a U13 gal on the U14 team at Eastside that made the Idaho group last year. Most everyone at U14 knows who she is as she is very good.

I am not sure one player can push a team up 3-4 spots, but they can most certainly can help a ton. This is especially the case with a starting player that has experience from the year above. A great CM or CB can change a things a ton

This is a ridiculous conversation at this point in time. There is so much possibility for change next season that the arguments are moot.

                      - There will be the normal amount of movement for playing time
                      - There will be the normal amount of movement for some players aligning themselves with where they may want to be for high school.
                      - Unknowns, such as will Sherwood players stay with new coach and WSM affiliation?
                      - SSC Pride and Stealth merging top talent.
                      - Timbers affiliation: will this draw some players or chase off girls who's parents tire of funding the boys?
                      - And don't forget the big elephant in the room: THUSC and if they get into ECNL. This could have many players trying to move, some Onyx players displaced, or some Onyx parents not buying into the costs?

All of the above will create a player merry-go-round. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the rest of the season. And let's face it, we are all shooting to be competitive with the current Onyx group, that is the goal. Thus far, only FC has put a dent (a small one) in their armor with the tie in the Fall. Then, after tryouts, you can all beat your chests until the games are played.

Uh oh, someone on Sherwood got offended. There might be people out there that don't agree with the Sherwood parents that this team is all that great.

Yes, Sherwood Dad isn't happy about the facts..... Look at the scores from last fall and tell me how awesome Sherwood is again? Does THIS guy follow U13G?????I do know this from talking to Eastside parents, the Timbers brought up 5 "B" team players last summer so if Sherwood won 1-0 and then tied 1-1 against them, there really isn't anything for Sherwood to brag about.

Not a Sherwood parent, let's get that out of the way first. So if 5 formerly "B team" players MADE the "A team" at U13, aren't they "A team" players themselves now? You do understand that athletes can get better over time through hard work and training right? Or do you believe that some girls are inherently A team players and some B? These girls are 12 for goodness sakes. Do you think that all of the best players at 12 will be exactly the same at 18?

Proud parent of a "B team" player.

P.S. Some of you would better served by finding your OWN competitive outlet rather than finding that in the athletic accomplishments of your children. Adults can and do play sports you know? Even ones that have little skill. It's fun nevertheless.
