    U-12G Spring

OPL's decision to mix Premier and Division 1 will make for an interesting Spring season for our U-12 Girls. Although Spring Ball means nothing in terms of State Cup seeding, it can provide important confidence and momentum going into the tournament. Following are the Vegas odds on this April's State Cup.

    EMFC Blue---- 1/4
    THUSC Z.----- 3/13
    FC PDX-------- 2/9
    LO Spirit ------ 1/6
    WUSC --------- 1/20
    RUSH ---------- 1/30
    Eastside-------- 1/50
    Bridlemile ------ 1/50
    Westside-------- 1/75
    Pacific ----------- 1/75
    Southside-------- 1/100
    Valley(Corvallis)- 1/1000

    FC PDX White --- 1/400

    Sorry FC White.

Haha love it! It's a good thing we can't actually bet on our kid's soccer in Vegas. Imagine the parents on the sidelines....

Did the oddsmakers pick EMFC because they have an easier path to the final being the top seed or are they truly the better team?

On another note, does anyone know what reward awaits the winner of state cup at u12? Is it surf cup or us club nationals or both/neither?

OMG. I don't know if that would be hilarious or sad.

My inside sources say that money is flowing into WSM (1/75), with their 2-0 victory over WUSC (1/20).

Honestly, I don't think the gap between the top Div 1 and bottom Premier is significant. WSM beating WUSC is just one example, there where many more examples in last summer's many tournaments.

I agree that most of the Division 1 teams could beat any of the premier teams on any given day but to do it 2-3 times in a row in state cup when the teams are playing their starters more than they do in a tournament is highly improbable. Of-course I would say the same thing about the bottom 3 premier teams being able to do that as well against the top 4-5 premier teams. At least this year anyway.

I just had an interesting conversation. It appears that as part of the Timbers Affiliated Club program the VUSA Timbers will be bringing their girls teams to the OPL next year. Welcome the 99 timbers Reds into the Oregon league!

Awesome! Good News! That is my daughters age group. The more competition from solid clubs the better. Wish your team the best.

I don't even know why their B team is allowed into a top division in the spring when no other club's B team is.

FC influence over OPL at play once again.

It has nothing to do with that at all. ANY team participating in State Cup is playing the premier teams. They basically took all the teams that are planning on playing State Cup and grouped them evenly into 2 divisions. They all need to start earlier so they can get done in time for State Cup.

Then how did that WUSC team give the EMFC "A" team a good game on Sunday if they were playing with mostly "B" players?

Hate to burst your bubble but WSM was short some players and didn't even have their coach.
