The Salem team was a very good team with some very good players. The two players mention on this board were probably their best players on that team.

It is too bad that someone had to lose because both teams played there hearts out and really battled it out on the field. The girls from both teams left it all out on the field and should be proud of the way they competed today.

Having watched this age group all year, seen both teams play in the last month my edge goes to THUSC. The defense for them is just better! They don't give up many goals, even less when the games in tournaments (see NWCL and semi's) I think there offense is ok but will be enough carry them through.

My prediction - 2-0 THUSC

Have seen them both play common opponents and think that it will run in similar fashion to those games. FC will dominate in the first half and be up 2- 0. They will get a little gassed and get defensively orientated to weather the the 2nd half storm.

Looking at their common opponents and outcomes won't help. Teams play other teams differently. You have to look at their past match ups. This game could go either way.

What is with the analysis of different opponents or tournament play. THUSC and FC just played in this tournament with the result being a 1-1 tie and THUSC winning in penalty kicks.

Don't need a whole lot of analysis to see these two teams are clearly evenly matched with either team capable of winning this weekend.

Eugene never threatened until late and got a legit, quality goal.

No, it sounds like they were there (the late legit goal and FC holding off Eugene in the last 10 mins) . . . just had a different interpretation of the game.

I would say FC was in control for 2/3 of the game, but Eugene made it interesting in the end.

It probably all depends on which side one is watching the game.

Yep was a good game. THUSC was out soccered while they still played aggressive. FC scored a good cross late in the first half. FC scored early in the first half on a header from a free kick. FC finished the scoring with about 10 minutes left on a breakaway.

THUSC had a few opportunities but nothing materialized. Possession was probably 60-40 FC. Both keepers only had a handful of touches. Corners were about even 3-2 or 4-3. Great game to watch.
