    Girls DA = ODP

Out of all the ODP opportunities, my DDs hands down favorite was the Portland Rain. It was challenging since there were no age categories and it was FREE for uniforms, training and travel. Unfortunately, it is a very short season.

I guess I am curious where the ECNL and ODP connection comes in and why people think that ODP is going there and how. Thanks!
I think the idea was to take the girls DA teams and apply for ECNL status. The DA teams would effectively be the ODP teams at each age group which is where I think the confusion comes from.

ECNL selects clubs at it's members, not a DA program thru ODP

        and...ECNL is Nike based.
        Alliance is Adidas based...

        you can't mix the two...

Every ECNL team is a NIKE Club

Every ECNL team is NOT Nike. In fact Washington Premier is Adidas and some of the CA ECNL teams are Adidas and I believe there are a couple East coast teams that are Puma

The Timbers DA is a "club"

The DA would have enough teams to qualify and since they would have the best of the State they should be as successful and competitive as most of the other ECNL teams. The thought is that they would get an invitation based upon the MLS DA programs reputation.

They would have to re-do ODP ages because ODP runs on a calendar year and ECNL uses a fiscal year from Aug - July

                  Think out side the box!

The players are matched to the age requirements of the league and not locked into any specific eligibility for DA memebership.
