A lil bird was whispering in my ear and told me of a story that isnt a happy one for most folk here.

He told me of a idea that the Timbers, once they have their West, East and North training centers in place, all the new players info in their data banks, all their best playing in their DA program, will eliminate them (WSM, ESUFC & VUSA) from competitive competition in our state. Those player will be wearing Green Adidas and wont have any identity to the former clubs so there is no need for them to be in competition of their program(s).

MP/Timbers (headed by Mr. Wilkerson) are in business to be in business. If they could control the lion share of the best youth players in our state, the rest will follow. At that point they also will be collecting the lion share of our tuition payments and that means profit (BIG profit). Their is no rent control, you and I will pay whatever they wish to charge or that the market will bear.

Be on the look out for the tale tell signs in the near future.

Or your parents should. Oh, there are scholarships. So the rich kids can pay for the ones that can't afford it.

Merging FC, THUSC and WSM makes sense and would result in an ENCL level club at every age group.

Bringing up the Southern Contingent would create a clash of ego's the likes Oregon soccer has NEVER seen. Not even the OPL OYSA split would be as bad as the fighting for control you would see in the proposed merger.

                      NW geographically or ECNL conference?

If it's the latter, you're wrong.

At least on NorCal club has received their acceptance.

no ECNL to Oregon for a while is what this person has to mean...
All these changes are going to have clubs merging creating "super clubs"...
after clubs combine the ones that have success at a high level (and I don't mean winning Cascade Cup or Beaverton Cup) for multiple years with all girls age groups....then you will see ECNL in Oregon...ECNL is at least 3 years away.

you mean winning Mt Hood Challenge isn't a big deal? :)

I have an older daughter who guest played for VUSA two years in a row at Mustang Stampede.

They send their GU-10's - GU-17's each year! You do stick your neck out going down there but you also get your name out by doing so.

Any updates? Is our hope of an ECNL club definitely over this year? I hope not

I received the email from TA and the Board, there is NO ECNL for THUSC this year, and NO ECNL for Oregon this year. I would love to see a THUSC/FC merger, not sure they are ready to go with OSSA yet, but think it would be a good start in the right direction. United FC? Works for me!

I'm disappointed for the team and my DD. Worth a try though. On another note, merging with another club will never work. Unfortunately Tom is not popular and those clubs will never merge unless we have another DOC.
